Emma tried to keep up to her mother who seemed to be in a hurry. She had been arguing with herself ever since they left the apartment. Once she had enough, with a simple tug at Beca's arm she came to a complete stop snapping back into the real world.
"You seem off... is everything okay?"
"Yeah. Everything is fine, I just don't want to be late. Apparently Chloe thinks I have a tendency to forget and be late to things."
"Ah I see, so there is something wrong."
"No not wrong, just not right. I mean, every couple fights right?"
She continues to walk away as Emma tries to keep up. Usually she would be the one to walk ahead. Her mother must he really upset if she's going ninety miles an hour, she thought.
"It's normal for couples to fight, just as long as they know how to resolve their issues."
"Em did your mother or I ever let you have a boyfriend?"
"Umm well... yes but I've... I mean I've dated but nothing long or serious."
Turning around Beca looks into Emma's eyes and states, "well I'll try to remember to not let you feel the pains of love."
Rolling her eyes Emma walks ahead of her and holds the door open for her mother. They had finally arrived at the science museum, Benji definately picked the meeting spot. Since they had arrived before time, thanks to Beca's fast walking, they decided to look around and play around with some of the interactive displays. For a moment Beca forgot about her troubles with Chloe and work. Having Emma in her life made it so much better and easier to handle, maybe that is what Chloe and her needed. It was too soon to talk about children but Emma somehow kept Beca with her feet on the ground. Making his appearance Benji greeted them both with white chocolate frappe's, their favorite drink.
"Wow Emma you did not change at all." Benji points out as he gives her a hug.
"I've missed you too, I hope you've been doing good."
"Oh yes, I've been great. How are you doing Beca? How is Chloe and Amy?"
"Well you know me, hard at work. Chloe is trying to get into Vet school and Amy is... well she is just Amy."
"Good, well let's get to the point. Emma didn't go back "home" and we need to figure out why. Any ideas?"
"No, I thought we had done everything right. Is she going to be stuck in the past?"
Taking a second to think Benji sighs, "No I don't think so. At least not by the will of the bracelet. You see the bracelet is trying to help Emma fix what she undid when she first went back in time. Yes you may have fixed things but in return changed the timeline."
"Well if that's the case then if I keep staying here the timeline will keep changing and I'll never get home."
"Well I'm not sure, look give me some time to do some research and make some calls. Go to the trip but make sure to not do anything too drastic. Also make sure to keep your mother's together."
"Hey I'm still here, besides keeping me and Chloe together won't be an issue. I do agree in the fact that we need to lay low and not do anything rash."
"Alright, I will give you two a call when I find something that can help. You two take care." Hugging them Benji leaves the museum.
[Emma's Flashback]
"Mom said she would teach me how to drive, she promised." Proclaims a young sixteen year old Emma.
"I know she did honey, your mom had some unexpected plans and had to leave early in the morning." Chloe argues back as she puts down the pot with water.
