Well. Today is it. Today is my seventeenth birthday. That may not sound like much to you, but in the village of Dragon Breath, the age seventeen means the world. My name's Nashmira by the way and today is the day where I get to be sorted. (A/N- No, not like in Harry Potter There aren't any hats here, just battle helms-) I have an idea of what I will probably turn out to be, since I; A- Have no healing magic B- don't want to be a Warrior C- a Dont have my head far enough up my ass to be a Dragon Tamer and D- Don't want to spend my life watching dragons fuck.
Yeah, Egger it is then.
"NASHMIRA! NASHMIRAAAAA!" Oh yeah, that's my best friend, Vion. "The hell do you want Vion?" I ask him blandly. He stops in front of me panting his ass off. "I..*pant*..came..*pant* as fast...*pant*..As I could." I stare at him is he really this out of shape that he gets winded from running a mile? "Dude how are you out of breath? You hardly had to run a mile." He puts his finger up for me to wait and hands me a letter saying something about being needed in the Warriors hall. Well that makes sense then, that's all the way across the village. "Why didn't you just say that to begin with?" I ask him, don't get me wrong I love him like a brother, he's my best friend, he can just be an idiot sometimes. "Why is it always questions with you?" He half asks half states as he looks up at me from his bent over position, still wheezing. "Because you decided to take a nice little morning jog and end up winding yourself. I mean seriously, if you still want to be a Warrior, man up a bit." He looks at me half pissed off half just like 'really?' "Well shit Nashmira some of us can't run the whole perimeter of the village twice in the time it takes a fully trained Warrior to do so." I stick my tongue out at him and state "Well they do have all that amor on, but still...anyways what was so urgent you had to practically run your legs off to tell me?" He finally straightens up from his wheezing, and hands me a dagger. I stare at it in confusion. "Thank you..?" He face palms "Look at the hilt damnit!" I do as he asks and gasp. Carved into the hilt is the symbol he has everywhere in his room, it's the emblem he made, a snake like dragon twisted around a staff of elements. "It's..it's beautiful Vion..." I look up at him and he's grinning like a fool "I knew ya'd like it!" I punch him in the arm "Oh shut up you grinning fool! We have to get going or I'll miss my own ceremony!"
We head over to the Main Hall for the ceremony of all the people who had their birthday's in that month, I just happened to have my birthday on that exact day May 18th. The whole tribe was not required to go to the ceremony, for it would be too much of a hassle, instead family and friends could go bUt once again, not required to. Section representatives, elders, and the tribe chieftain were all required to go though.
By the time Vion and I got to the Main Hall we still had awhile to spare so we both sat around outside, he sketched some dragons and shit, and I practiced my magic. Everyone had to learn magic, it was a requirement. My two specialties were water/all precipitation and electricity. I was just making little doodles in the air with my sparks, leaving some smoke type substance behind as well as a little design. I then waved it away before Vion could make any snarky comment on it, but it looked like he still had his head shoved into his sketch book. "..You know Vion, you should become a Dragon Tamer." He looked at me in astonishment and surprise, "I should what?!" I rolled my eyes at him. "You. Should. Be. A. Dragon. Tamer." I spoke to him slowly as if speaking to a slightly dense child. "But you hate Dragon Tamers! You say that they're stuck up and full of-mmph!" I had clapped my hand over his mouth before he could say anything else, you never know who could be around. "I know what I said, and believe me, I meant it, but if you were to be a Dragon Tamer, then you could show everyone else that not all Dragon Tamers are complete bitches." I slowly removed my hand from his mouth. "Besides, you love to draw them all the time, hell, someone could say you have an obsession." He looked like he was reasoning it out with himself. "But..but what about me being a Warrior..?" He looked at me like a lost puppy. It was kinda cute if I'm being honest, but that just further proved my point. He wouldn't last a day in the Warrior's Hall. "Face it Vion, you aren't built to be a Warrior, you aren't muscular and you don't have shit for brains." He looked at me with a weird look in his eyes. "What?" He burst out laughing. When he calmed down a bit he spoke. "That's..*wheeze* probably..*wheeze* the nicest thing..you *cough* have ever said.. *wheeze* to me..and you *wheeze* made it.. funny while insulting...*cough* ..someone as well" I snorted. "Yeah, yeah. I get it. I'm awesome. Anyways let's head into the Hall, the ceremony should be starting soon."
(A/N- Well. Let's hope that isn't too horrible. I'm about to head off to dinner(thank god, I didn't have lunch and I'm probably going to eat myself at this point.) I hope you all enjoyed that! My very first book..wow.. no one is going to be reading this... wow 😂 all joking aside I hope you liked it, I may not update this too much, but I'll do my best! I'll cya in the next chapter! Author out-)
(Ps: word count is 943 not including A/N and this.)
