THE MOMENT Juliet opens her eyes, the darkness greets her blurry vision. She blinks hard, squinting her eyes as she tries to adjust from the dizziness, and at the same time, trying to feel her senses as she ground down herself. The distinctively clean and sharp smell of citrus wafted through her nose, her limbs feels utterly numb as well as her aching back. She stretches her legs, letting out a soft, dull hum as she wanders her eyes again to the familiar creamy white wall. Her groggy mind wondered where she was at, but her question immediately dispersed as she felt her eyelids getting heavier. Her eyes slowly fluttering, she makes another attempt of blinking, but her eyes shut close. She feels the normal rhythm of her heart beat, the calm, chilly air around the room, and the ear-splitting silence. She did not hear any of her alters talking in hushed whispers, and there is no one in-Front with her.
Catalina Juliet seemed to drift into placidity, lulling her body to rest once again.
Her thoughts are defenseless, like a sentimentalize prose that sprouts from the turf of emotional granularity and just casually flows through the stream of her liquid mental faculties. And as she completely let her guard down, her train of thoughts starts to recall what happened before darkness succumbed her.
She can vaguely hear the gentle, yet firm, voice of Talin. But she is too occupied by the series of events that came flashing in her mind. From how she disclosed the duplicity of her feelings to her twin sister, to the moment she woke up in the hospital and heard her parents in a heated argument, as well as how she framed the words to make her boyfriend's cousin to stay.
"Then, let Abstal stay with you."
She frantically opens her eyes, jerking out from her seat as she felt the adrenaline to start kicking in. She is now fully awake, her eyes widen in panic as she sweeps her gaze to the four corners of the room.
She quicky took a mental note. Thick folders, book dividers, sticky notes, paintings, small couch, narrowed hospital bed area, stacked up piles of papers in front of her, and most importantly, the thin-rimmed glasses she is wearing that she did not notice at all not only after she becomes aware as if she is looking at an anti-reflective coating of a greenish color.
She took off the glasses, noticing the familiar large white sleeves that makes her immediately conclude that she is wearing her white coat. She stares at the glasses as her mind thoroughly comprehend her current situation.
First, she was already discharged. Second, Talin was the one in front before she took her place based from the glasses that none of her alters ever worn one aside from her. Last but not the least, she is at her own office!
