I had taken classical studies at school because my dad said that he wanted me too. I understand now why he did. If dryads exist then the gods might as well and you really don't want to piss them off. According to the legends they would turn those who crossed them in hideous creatures or curse them in some way most horrible. Some of the chapters in the grimoire had more law on Dryads. Although I haven't found a cure in it yet, I'm still hopeful. The dryads' grimoire was so tremendously big it would take me weeks to get through.

Every day in Mystic Falls I learned a bit more about who I was and my mother's people I would one day join. It was a lot easier with Bonnie around to figure out what the dryads' grimoire said. It has been about a week now in Mystic Falls and now I didn't need her help so much. I called my dad and told him I was going to be away longer than I originally thought. He understood.

"My friend Jeremy is coming down to visit today. Do you think that you will be alright meeting him? Or do you still need more time to figure out how to control it?" Bonnie said after breakfast. I had sort of moved in with her over the time I have been here.

"I guess there is only one way to find out, since I haven't been in contact with anyone human besides you I don't know how I will be." I answered adding. "If something happens get me out and I'll try to calm myself down."

"Okay, I hope nothing happens because he is a good friend of mine." She had mentioned him once before, having said that he was a vampire hunter. It seemed to me that anyone that she knew was a vampire hunter. The Sheriff was one and she mentioned a guy called Alaric who was a retired vampire hunter.

"Thanks for agreeing to help me, Bonnie. It means a lot." I said gratefully.

"Look it's really okay. I know that you need a safe place away for vampires right now. I'm happy to help you with your magic too. I just hope that you have enough control now so it doesn't affect my friend so much." Bonnie replied. We had learnt how to depict the writing in the Dryads Grimoire. It was similar to how her grimoire was written.

"Maybe I should try and find a potion that will calm it down." There was plenty of potions and spells in the dryads grimoire, but very few of them were helpful.

Bonnie made sure that Matt didn't come around to the house when I was there. No one else seemed to be in town besides the two of them. I was mostly at the house but sometimes I went to the border for Mystic Falls to see Vic. Bonnie didn't know that I was going to see him though. She assumed I was going to the wooded area to embrace the nature side of the dryad. It is partly true since I could get to the border a lot faster through the trees because of the powers I now knew how to use.

Jeremy arrived at her house an hour later. Bonnie went outside to greet him and invite him into the house. I was inside waiting. It looked like she was warning him about me. I trusted her now to not share my secret with others.

They both walked inside. "Delilah your eyes, they are glowing green!" Bonnie whispered in my ear since she came in first Jeremy couldn't see them.

I felt the pull towards Jeremy, not out of feelings but out of the lust the dryad in me made me feel. He seemed to be drawing nearer. "I don't think I can Bon. I don't have full control. I'll just go." I ran out the backdoor before he got time to have a good look at me.

I wasn't far from the woods and it didn't take me long to get there. Something felt different when I entered the woods this time. Power emanated through the woods. That's about when I realized that I wasn't alone in the woods.

A woman stood with her back to me with long dark curly hair and a strong build. She sensed my presence and turned around. The power that I felt around me was coming from her, it was not of any creature of this world.

"I've been waiting for you. Do you know who I am?" She asked.

"Artemis the goddess of the hunt and a tutelary deity of all nymphs." Artemis looked pleased with my answer.

"I owe your mother a favour and that is why I am here." She paused. "The energy in you is building to extremely dangerous levels. If you continue to resist your nature, you will end up with your mother a lot sooner than you should."

"But what if I'm not ready?" Tears welled up in my eyes but they didn't fall.

"I think you have been ready for some time, but you find it hard to accept it." She rested her hand on my shoulder. I felt power follow into me, it made me feel wonderful. I knew she was right. I wanted to spend as much time as I could with my loved ones here in the mortal world.

"You're right. Thank you for making me realize it." I smiled up at her grateful that my mother had sent her.

"I'll see you around, Delilah." And just like that she was gone in a flash of light.

"Who were you just talking to?" Bonnie came up from behind me.

"Artemis, she was just giving me some advice on how to control my powers." I breathed.

"Artemis, as in the Greek Goddess?"

"Yes, I know what I have to do now."

"What?"

"Give into my nature. I have to go and see Victor. I'll see you in an hour." I took off into the trees disappearing from sight.
