Chapter 3

If I just walk along the sides maybe I could get out of here unnoticed and could easily avoid him. After our breakup, this is the first time I saw him and probably I’ll be seeing him every day.  Great! I don’t even know where Kate and Anna ar- my thoughts were interrupted as I bumped into something or someone.

“Are you fucking bli- Oh hey there assembly girl” in front of me stood the devil himself smirking down at me. It took everything in me not to smack that smirk off his face. I tried walking past him but he just wouldn’t get out of my way. I could always walk towards the other direction but I’m in mood to face Troy right now.
“Go away Potter” I spat, my tone harsher than I intended.
“You know you really need to stop calling me that” he chuckled. Loser.

“Let’s give it a fresh start, I’m Harry Styles not Potter. What about you?” he asked in a friendlier tone than before. I could see his lips forming into a light curve.
“Scarlett O’Conner” I replied with no emotions. I wasn’t in a mood to have a conversation right now. I’m sure no one will be after seeing their ex who cheated on you with his ex and your worst enemy.

Harry opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by some girl calling his name from the other end of the cafeteria. Harry groaned I’m guessing in annoyance and turned to where that girl was. I saw Kate and Anna at a table on the other side of the cafeteria.
“Harry!” that girl called again.
“What do you want now Quinn” he said facing her. I took that as my opportunity to escape and started walking towards Kate and Anna. Just before I left I heard the girl say “I missed you babe” in a slutty tone and hugged Harry. Such a flirt, he has a girlfriend and yet he was trying to flirt with me.

“Hey where did you guys go? I was looking for you two.” I asked as I reached their table and sat next to Kate.

“Oh, we were just outside the cafeteria, Niall wanted to see me.” Anna replied.
“Niall?” I raised my eyebrow.
“Yeah Ann’s boyfriend. He’s sweet to only some people.” Kate slightly chuckled at the last part. Anna just shrugged her shoulders and simply replied “As long as he’s sweet to me, I’m okay with it.”
“Oh” was all I could say.

The lunch went pretty quiet as Ann was on her phone probably talking to Niall and Kate was busy reading some stupid celebrity gossip magazine.
“Ladies!” a guy approached to our table that with a grinning wide, he looked around our age. Oh wait, he’s the same guy that was talking to Harry earlier during the assembly. He sat on the empty seat that was between me and Anna and right in front of Kate.
“I, Alex Hastings, would like to have the honor to invite you pretty ladies to semesters first smashing party! 9pm, frat house 2 blocks away! Can’t wait to see those lovely legs!” he winked at Kate at the end. The excitement never left his voice and Kate started blushing like crazy.
“Sure thing hottie!” she winked.

Wow! This university is full of perverts and flirts.

He got up and started walking towards another table. Troy’s table! Oh dear lord please don’t invite him please don’t invite him!
“Hey mate you comin’ tonight?” I heard him ask Troy loudly. Great! -.-
“Yeah mate what time?” Troy replied.
“9pm. Sharp.” Alex shouted as he left the cafeteria with Harry.
If you’re guessing that I’m going to ditch this party then you’re right. I really need to stop looking at Troy. He probably doesn’t even feel the same way anymore. I doubt he even remembers my name.

After lunch we all headed towards our first class, today was an induction day so we only got the intro of every lecture. The day went slow probably because I was trying to avoid every person I knew. I saw Beth and Violet talking at the end of the hallway and started walking towards them.

“Hey guys haven’t seen you all day” I said slightly relieved that I at least have some friends. They looked at me as if I was some kind of animal and started walking towards the other direction. Maybe I was wrong, I don’t have any friends.
