I heard what he said. I just didn't respond. I didn't if he asked because he saw my neck because he saw through my bullshit or both.

"It was Whitney's party."I grabbed his head and tried to pull him back down. I already knew where this was going and I didn't have time for it.

Rene had stopped touching me completely and sat up. "Whitney? Whitney Houston? Bobby Brown's wife?"

"I'm not sure how many Whitney Houston's you know, but yes."I grabbed my sheets and held them close to my body. If we were going to argue I didn't want to do it Naked.

"Baby, you know I don't like it when you hang around them. They're too wild."Rene stood up and sat down on the other side of the bed.

"Baby. Don't be like that. Whitney and I have been friends for a while. Since she dated Michael."I reached out for his hand, but he didn't let me grab it.

"Now I see the real reason you didn't come home last night."Rene scoffed and started to grab his clothes to put them back on.

"You are being so extra right now, Rene. It's not that serious and I'm a grown ass woman. I can party with whoever I please." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my towel off of the floor. He had ruined the whole moment.

"So that's why you didn't invite me, isn't it? Janet that is not the point. I worry about you, last night I was worried about you. I thought something happened. You didn't even tell me where you were going."

He started to walk over to me with his arms crossed.

"Since when do I have to report back to you like some type of drill Sargent? I'm your fiancé, not your child. You seem to have the two confused."I had started to speak over my normal tone of voice. I wasn't usually one to yell but he had me mad this morning. "You know what? I don't even care, I will not argue with you about this."I walked to through my closet and found something quick to put on.

"That's the problem. You never want to argue! We don't have to though. I'll let you have your moment. I'll let you have your moment."Rene walked away to the bathroom and I rolled my eyes. He was really starting to annoy me.

After settling on a simple pair of jeans and a cropped white T-shirt, I walked downstairs to use my cell phone. I didn't want Rene in my conversation.

"Hey. What's on my schedule for today?"I asked soon as Tanya picked up. "An interview? What time?"

"Wow. How come nobody told me? Can I reschedule? Ok yeah. Send him some flowers or a basket or something. Thanks, Tanya, you're the best."I smiled and closed my phone.

"Oh my god. You scared me."I turned around to Tish standing behind me. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You were with him last night,  weren't you?"Tish squinted her eyes at me.

"Maybe, Maybe not."I shrugged.

"Well let me say this, the next time you wanna include me in your lies to your man...don't. I almost blew your cover bitch."Tish started to tap on her foot.

"Well, I'm glad you didn't."I crossed my arms in front of me. "We start rehearsals for the tour in two weeks."

"I'm not the one you need to remind. You've been a little forgetful lately, you know forgetting you have a man and all."Tish shrugged as she walked away.

"What's her problem?"I raised an eyebrow. "I might need to burn some sage. Everyone is so hostile."

Bill

Bill walked to his friends home where they often chilled and watched games. When he stepped into the room they both had his undivided attention.

"Well, well, well, Nigga, where were you after your show?"Shemar stuffed some popcorn into his mouth. "Thought we was gone have to file a missing person report on yo' ass."

Bill chuckled and sat down on the couch."Nah. I just had some business to take care of. That's all."

"What kind of business nigga? With your new lady friend?"Shemar asked him. "Who is it? You can tell me."

"I don't want to spoil it. I can't tell you, but we had a good time last night. We went out, had some drinks, got a lil tipsy and I met a new side of her."Bil shrugged. "She's something."

Shemar widened his eyes and put his drink down. "Tell me about it."

"I won't go into detail, that's disrespectful. I ain't never been with a woman like that. She ain't scared, she ain't lazy. She doesn't want me to do all the work. She's just — Different."

"So, do you like her as a person or you just like to have sex with her?"Shemar raised an eyebrow.

"I mean, yeah she's cool. We talk, we have conversations but it's mostly the sparks that we have when we....into it."Bill chuckled. "She knows what she's doing on the bedroom that's for damn sure."

"So are you ever going to tell me who she is, or you gone keep it a secret for all eternity."Shemar sipped from his beer.

"In 20 years, I'll tell you, but right now it'll do too much damage to the world."Bill looked down at his pager.

"Oh? She must really be somebody then. Let me find out you boning Whitney Houston."Shemar joked. "Or you trying to take Toni from me."

"Nigga, anybody should be trying to take Toni from you, you're an asshole to her."Bill looked down at his pager again. "Ooh and while we're on the subject, I've got to go."

"Page from your mystery woman? You can use my phone."Shemar said with a wide smile across his face.

"Wouldn't you love that? Nah nigga, I got my cell in the car. Call Toni or something. If she answers phone for you still. I heard that nigga Wesley was sending her flowers. Better hope she still your girl."Bill joked as he walked out to the car.
