jimin shivered in his cold apartment. he was running low on food, all of his water was frozen. by this point he didn't even try to make an effort for his survival like many.
the 18 year old knew these were his last moments. if his parents really were alive, he knew where he'd see them. their lake, their lake. they made a promise together, one that jimin knew they wouldn't break. one that stayed in his broken heart throughout the times he thought his time on earth was done.
"if anyone of us, are in trouble. if we're at our last moments. the lake is ours to visit until our last breath," jimin's father spoke, his voice deep like the ocean. the five year old jimin looked up at his father in admiration, making a nod as he hugged the his father's left leg.
the memory made jimin's heart race. he rose from his frosty bed, shakily putting on all of the winter clothes he could find with his limbs slowly losing feeling. his once beautifully pink lips were a soft blue.
jimin licked over them in an attempt to elongate his life just for the slightest bit longer. he took the picture of his parents in his his hand, hesitantly going out to the wintery like city.
the whole place was empty, deserted in a way. the only thing heard was the howling winds as snow flew like a bullet from the sky.
the dark haired boy took no time to weakly make his way through the thick snow, tears stinging at his dark blue eyes from the wind.
the sad male pushed his way past dead bushes, still holding the picture tightly in his weak grasp. he couldn't wait to see his parents again, just to see them.
jimin was almost there; he was ready to be in his parents heavenly grasp once more. ready to see their healing smiles that held more than the stars but his long gone happiness that he wanted so desperately.
jimin reached the frozen lake with his body shaking. he was too scared to open his eyes, just waiting to hear his parent's voices. there were moments and moments of silence, not a single noise. there was only the howling wind of the eternal winter surrounding him.
it was then, that jimin knew, his parents weren't coming back to give him what he so desperately needed and longed for. the warmth of a hug, the support, the star gazing every saturday, laughter, happiness.
there was a deep pang in his heart as he fell to his knees, not bothering to open his eyes. soft cries left his blue lips as tears dripped onto the ground, freezing instantly. the picture of their family dropped onto the frozen lake, shattering as did jimin's heart.
he felt broken. his dreams, his hopes, disappeared in the wind and snow. there was a faint feeling in his head, his time nearing. he took in the feeling with open arms, ready to go.
there were small, dim footsteps towards jimin's figure, he could smell the dim smokey like scent coming from the unknown.
jimin knew he was delusional, just grieving. just. grieving. it was his final moments anyways, no wonder.
there was a small warmth around him, a soft snicker from above him as his cries softened.
it wasn't a hug, just warmth.
jimin slowly looked up, the only thing showing were his teary, blue eyes.
he gently wiped his incoming tears, staring at the figure above him.
there was fire in their eyes. but he was too far gone, too far gone to notice the stranger's aggressive eyes widening into something he'd never seen.
jimin's vision slowly darkened, his grip on the ice beneath him disappearing.
goodbye to the stars in the sky.
