"And please, don't freak out when you see one of 'em Zorgons. Your rifles have been designed specifically to deal with them. Blow them back to hell if you come across one, and don't hesitate."
"Highly understood Captain."
"In the unlikely event of where you come across an unclassified Zorgon, you are not permitted to shoot before reporting it. Further instructions will be given by the general back at base. Understood?"
"Highly understood Captain."
"And remember, if you go out there, you put everything on the line. Not just your life, but every one on your units' lives. Make one mistake, and it's gonna be you who's getting blown back to hell. Understood?"
"Highly understood Captain."
"Now listen to me carefully. Earth is counting on us. If we fail, Earth is as good as dead. We are giving up the rest of our lives so that the future generations can have a better one! If we succeed, Earth will be reborn and reshaped, and spared from devastation. Earth needs us just as much as we need her. Remember, we are the most important unit they will be sending out so far. Even if we don't survive as heroes, we at least die as legends. Now get your stuff. Weapons, armor, food, everything. We're getting transported in 5 minutes."
When I joined the United Forces of Interdimensional Travel - more commonly known as the U.F.I.T. - we were asked if we were willing to give our lives for Earth. We are going to explore, mine, kill and maybe even get killed in the process. Since I'm a military veteran I was placed into one of the most important units to get sent out: Unit 275. We consist out of world class medics, scientists, miners, military veterans, builders, pilots and extraterrestrial life specialists. Our goal is to find a new location to set up a drilling facility. There are only two that exist at this time. And because drilling the element takes long to complete, it makes sense why they'd want to build another one. The element's name is Atmostasia, an element that generates it's own magnetic field and atmosphere. Scientists are still running tests on how to control the magnetic fields. They want to use this technology to repair Earth's atmosphere and its core, since some smart-ass decided it'd be a great idea to generate electricity from Earth's core. This has caused a huge increase in global warming, and has massively increased the chances of Earth melting down. Theorists say that by the year 2133 Earth's core will be so hot that it'll start melting the atmosphere, and that's just 24 years away. Farming has reached a massive downfall since wheat and potatoes are struggling to grow. Other crops, like soya and spinach have already gone entirely extinct. Animals too, the population of fish in the ocean has decreased by 75% within the past few decades. Birds like seagulls have also reached point zero, along with our primates, chimpanzees and orangutans. If we don't do something, humans will one day be on that list as well.
Mankind has always been fueled by desire, we as humans want more comfort and want more money and we never stop wanting. We turn to greed and jealousy, and we forget what we really need. And that's where we the U.F.I.T. comes in. Not only have they discovered how to travel through dimensions to get to other realms, but each of the species named above has been conserved by them, at HomeBase.
Their goal has always been to rebuild. And it all starts here, today, with Unit 275 as the leader of the pack.
