i finally managed to finish mopping the floor within another 30 minutes or so and a huge grin escaped my lips in satification.
only then did i realise that donghan had just left me all alone without helping me at all.
"that idiot," i said through gritted teeth as i walked out of the hall after keeping the mop and the bucket at the back of the hall. whatever, i was more than happy that i had ended my detention.
as i made my way down the corridor, i saw that annoying and mean kim donghan making his way towards my direction. i frowned while i jogged towards him. as i was about to lash out on him, something felt odd. donghan wasn't smiling, and his face was stiff and unhappy-looking.
i bit down on my lips and raised my eyebrows as i analysed his facial expressions.
"what's wrong with you?" i asked.
donghan crossed his arms and simply looked away.
i was starting to get annoyed at his actions.
"what happened?" i asked again, hoping i could get a valid reply.
but i got ignored once again.
"fine, whatever. i can't be bothered with you," i shrugged as i started to walk off, but i was held back by him.
pissed, i turned back and stared at donghan. what was that boy doing?
"so, did you have fun with jungwoo?" he finally speaks, but his words left me confused. i licked my lips and furrowed my eyebrows, giving him a what-are-you-talking-about look.
"what?" i ask.
"what?" he asked me back while nodding his head towards me.
"what?" i raised my voice slightly lowder and nodded my head towards him.
"i told you to not get all chummy with jungwoo didn't i?" donghan says, breaking the chain on 'what's.
"when did i get all chummy with him?" i narrowed my eyes at donghan.
"at the hall! he patted you," donghan released my arm and folded his arms again. i brought my arm to my chest as well and crossed it.
"so what? does it concern you if we are chummy or not? why are you so angry anyways?" i said, looking up at him.
"not like i want to care! okay whatever, hang out with that guy for all you like. he's nowhere near good, and his not even worth your time fawning over. but whatever," donghan huffs out in annoyance.
i sighed, about to fight back but then realised that there was nothing good about getting into an argument with donghan about it. i've never liked arguing with others, it always makes me say something unpleasant on impulse which would hurt the other party and would also strain relationships. what for make both parties feel so upset?
"why are you so agitated for?" i decided to ask with a softer voice.
donghan opened his mouth, about to say something, but closed it soon after.
i waited for a while more but nothing came out of his mouth.
i guessed there really must be something about jungwoo that donghan is clearly not happy about. he was being unreasonable by not telling me what was wrong and just asking me to stay away from jungwoo, but i think donghan would have had my interest at heart.
"i'll stay away from jungwoo, okay?" i finally say, looking at my feet.
there was a short silence as i fiddled with the hem of my skirt.
"okay," he replied, and i looked up at him. i smiled slightly.
"let's go home?" i suggested and he nodded. hence we made our way down the corridor together side by side.
