I live on the planet known as Seltim. We live off the land and take good care of it too. Since we do such a good job keeping balance and peace we haven't had any wars in over 300 years. In Seltim there are 4 divisions seperated by what eye color you have,and your eye color determines what power you have. Blues eyes control water, green (like mine) control plants, brown control the weather, and gray controls the air. There are some who are blind though, such as my father who despite their disability can see the future.
I sat on a tree limb outside, I was hungry like I usually was. I grabbed 5 leaves and 2 twigs and clenched them tightly in my hands letting my magical energy rush towards my finger tips. My short green hair flowing to the breeze as I transformed the leaves and twigs. I slowly opened my hand to reveal a light green apple which I quickly bit into.
"Tara, Tara where have you been? You weren't sitting on the spirit rock where we were supposed to meet." my best friend shouted at me from the ground.
"I'm sorry" I slipped down the tree and stood next to Kawi "Let's go!" We raced towards Forest Falls where the spirit rock resides. We stopped on front of the waterfall, the flawless crystal clear water flowed in what seemed like and endless stream. Cool water droplets would splash our face as we got closer. Me and Kawi discovered the rock about a week ago, apparently we were the only people in our district who knew about it so we kept it a secret.
"Did you bring the portal leaves?"(portal leaves are used by higher ups to see a into different divisions, so they can do things as talk to higher ups from other divisions. Only higher ups have access to these leaves but Kawi's dad is the captain of the animal research unit so she has access to these leaves.)
"Of course I did I'm not an idiot!"
"Good, now let's do this Kawi." We run through the waterfall soaking are green silk dresses. The water is warm but not hot and it feels amazing I don't want to leave but I will drown if I don't. We make it over to the cave behind the waterfall as we try to catch our breath.
"Are you ready Kawi?"
"I was born ready" she places the leaves in a circle formation on top of the spirit rock. The rock is gray but it almost looks silver, its has a shine to it and runes encrypted on it which me Kawi deciphered. it said
"In order to see a world past your own do as these runes say:
Gather ten portal leaves and form them in a circle put one fruit grow only from the land and set it in the center. Finally all present must put a part of them in the center as well"
"Tara hand me the fruit."
"Of course, here." I say as I hand her a pear I found growing deep inside the forest.
"What are we gonna do for the part of us?"
She grins and looks at me "Here let me show you" she rips out a piece of my hair and slowly pulls out a long strand of her shiny white hair.
"Ow!!!"
"Don't be a baby!" she sets the hair in the center and nothing happens.
"I don't think this-"I start to say but I am interrupted by a ball of light and an exsplosion. Both me Kawi fall to the ground.
"Kawi are you ok???"
"I'm fine Tara... LOOK!!!" She points over to the spirit stone. At first I see nothing but smoke. Then as it fades I see a portal cloud.
"It worked!!!" I get up an examine it.
"Kawi this doesn't look like our world at all!" On Seltim the skies are blue, the ground is green with grass, and nature is everywhere. In this world the sky was red, the ground was a gray and black garbage, and the only thing you could see were buildings.
"Tara I see someone look!" she points at the corner of the portal cloud.
"Weird look she's running towards the portal cloud." I couldn't see her face because she was wearing a mask but I could tell she was female.
"Tara who's that!? She pointed to a tall man also wearing a mask. He pulled out some weird shiny thing. The shiny thing began to shoot out rays of blue light. The girl avoided them.
"What are they doing?" One of the blue lights hit the strange girl.
"Beats me... Tara look she fell down!"
"Is she ok?" she flips over and shows her exsposed burn the blue ray must have given her. She started screaming and then she went silent and motionless. We watched in horror as the mysterious girl died.
