"You said you loved me, you told me you would never hurt me, and nevertheless do this." A single tear streamed down my face.
My heart aches. My body shakes. I feel broken. I can't even look at him, hear him, nor be near him. My life shattered between my eyes.
John tugs the sheets to cover his naked body that I was desperately waiting to trail with my hands. Shocked and flustered he looked inside my eyes. Waiting for me to act, to do, to scream or make any type of movement.
But I couldn't. I just stared at him and back at her, at the broken promises that he crushed, that he destroyed.
I don't know who she is, and I could care less.
I storm out, feeling lost. I should've known that a person like him never waits.
I sprint outside, leaving no time for him to chase me. Dark Clouds form in the sky, thunder roars. Speckles of water start to drip. Now combing with the drop of tears on my cheeks.
I run fast, every step only making it rain harder. I don't know where to go or what to do. I'm in the middle of an unknown street, where only a signage of bright blue letters showcase.
It's a bar, and beer is exactly what I need right now. I race, seeking shelter inside the bar and placing my wet jacket on a coat hanger nearby. I take my purse and walk towards the counter were the server is.
I could feel eyes on me, watching my every movement. I thought "why would they be staring at me so intensely." That is when I realized that I was the only person dripping with water.
My dark brown hair was soaked, and my mascara smudged, thankfully only lightly. I jump on the high bar-stool, my feet barely touching the wooden floor. My five feet height making the process just a bit harder.
"Tough night, I see." the handsome bartender smirked.
"Clearly, can I please have two shots of your strongest Tequila?" I rolled my eyes.
"Coming right up." He turned around and poured them while staring at me intensely.
Impatiently, I snatched the drinks and poured them down.
A sour taste hits my tongue and my face clenches at the very foreign liquid that is now in my body.
"You don't drink much do you, princess."
Princess? Did he just call me princess?
"It's Marline for you." I snapped.
Quickly I apologized, realizing how rude I was being. "You know what I'm sorry, I didn't mean to catch an attitude. It's not your fault my life is a mess. Can you just hit me with two more shots?"
So he did, two became four, and four became six. I decided to get my own table and all alone I was drinking, drinking my sadness away.
I was still conscious but I could care less of how I looked, what I was doing, or how I would end up tonight.
I checked my phone, and it was twelve AM. Four new text messages and ten missed calls. It was late but I didn't know where else to go. It was still raining hard and the only shelter I could seek was inside this bar.
"Hey pretty girl, what are you doing all alone?" A blonde haired, blue eyed man approached.
I ignored him, I wanted to be alone.
"Leave me alone, Thank You."
"You know you don't want that..." He placed his hand on my leg and I quickly moved it away.
"Excuse you, but don't touch me." At this point my voice grew higher and people were glancing.
"C'mon Baby, You know you want Me." he grew closer and closer, invading my personal space.
"Stay away!" I tried my best to shove him away, but I didn't have the strength to.
"HEY!" I heard a loud voice boom.
"Leave her alone, or I will call the police!" The handsome bartender yelled.
He was now near us. The blonde haired, blue eyed man quickly dispersed.
"Thank you, but I could've dealt that myself, I don't need a man to help me out." I mumbled.
Clearly, I did need the help.
"Look I know you're going through something, but you need to slow it down on the drinks. Okay? I won't serve you anymore if you don't go back to the bar counter."
"Fine, I guess." I stood up and walked very slowly toward the counter. Everything was spinning, but for once I didn't care. For once I felt free and like I could do anything.
Hours passed and it was now three AM in the morning. The bar was almost closing and I was the last person there, confessing my life story with none other than the bartender. Telling him what happened and not realizing, not until tomorrow, what I will regret saying.
It's time for me to go, somewhere or nowhere. The bartender had finished cleaning and was patiently waiting for me.
I finally decided to get off the bar stool very slowly, but I could feel my body ready to fall. Strong arms grip my waist and I could feel my legs being lifted off the floor. I was now in a cradle position.
"Its okay princess, I got you. You aren't leaving this place, not like this." He whispered in a sweet voice.
The lights soon became dim and my eyes slowly started to shut. The last thing I remember is the sexy scent of the handsome bartender that calls me princess.
