MADELINE AVA GILBERT PETROVA was a tired wreck. She was questioning herself, something she hardly ever did. Sitting in her car outside the airport, she sighed. To a normal person, she was alone. To her eye or Jeremy, there would be a girl in the back with blonde curls and a killer smile, but unfortunately life was taken from her too early. Erica no longer minded being dead, because she wasn't fully alone.

"Maddie, you know my whole life story. I want to know about you. Tell me about Aiden and Ethan." Erica stated and Maddie raised an eyebrow. "I don't know them." Maddie shrugged off and Erica scoffed.

"I watched you at school today. You sprinted out of the library crying, that doesn't seem to suggest that you don't know them." Erica stated and Maddie sighed. "Aiden and Ethan Reiner. Or that was their last name when I knew them. They were the hottest boys of our year. I met Ethan first, one of my best friends. We met in New York on the 9th of July 2009 in the school library at 2.30pm. We were both 15 and freshmen and I was down there staying with my Uncle while my parents were away on business, Elena stayed with Bonnie and Jeremy stayed with Aunt Jenna" Maddie started.

Maddie sighed as she threw her English text book onto her pile of finished work. Maddie was a cheerleader, musician and artist, but she also took advanced classes. So every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, she came down to the library to study and do homework. "That looks like a lot of work." A voice said and Maddie looked up to see Ethan.

"Yeah. My mother told my Uncle to put me into advanced classes because she wanted me to be challenged or something like that. I can only say that so far it's working" Maddie joked and Ethan laughed as he took a seat across from her. "I'm Ethan." Ethan introduced and Maddie smiled. "Madeline but people called me Maddie." Maddie introduced herself.

"We became best friends. We met at the library every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday to study together. I was there when he realized he was gay. We did track together, he joined the football team and I was a cheerleader. He came out the second he realized and I was so proud of him. He came to my concerts and always supported me as I supported him. Our first fight was when he got a boyfriend and stopped talking to me. It was the 2nd of November, 2009 and that was the same day I met Aiden for the first time."

Maddie sighed as she saw the time. She had waited three hours over her and Ethan's study time. She decided to go to his house and confront him. This wasn't fair on her. She packed her stuff up and walked to his house. It wasn't the first time she had been to his house, but it may as well be the last. She knocked on the door and waited before seeing Ethan's twin open the door. "Hi, is Ethan here?" Maddie asked and Ethan's twin shook his head.

"No, he's at the movies with Max. They're watching the new toy story movie. I'm Aiden." Aiden introduced and Maddie smiled. "Madeline. People just call me Maddie or Melody." Maddie said and Aiden smiled before a car pulled up behind them and Max's brother dropped Ethan off. Ethan was surprised to see Maddie. "Giggles?" Ethan asked confused. Giggles was his nickname for Maddie, simply because when she brakes into giggles, she can't stop.
