Chapter 33

Kaia looked at her sister.  "Katia, what is it?" She asked.  "What's wrong?" She asked and then turned to see where she was looking and there in the doorway was her son.  Standing there.  Holding three roses in his tiny little hands.  She heard Zayn's voice off to the side where she couldn't see him.  

"Go on, just like we practiced," Zayn said to his son.

Kaia got to her feet and covered her mouth with her hand as her baby began to walk towards her.  He up until now, had only been walking along by holding onto the furniture, and now he was walking on his own.  "Oh my baby," she said trying not to cry as she watched him.  She glanced up and saw Zayn and Harry come through the doorway.  She knelt down next to Karim and he handed her a rose and she hugged him to her.  

Zayn moved closer and then directed Karim to Katia and he handed her a rose with a little prompting and Katia kissed his little cheek.  He then toddled over to Marian and held up his last rose which had a little tag on it.

Marian couldn't help but smile as she watched Karim and Kaia's happiness at his walking.  She too kissed his little cheek and then looked at the little tag tied with a green ribbon.  It had the words 'I'm sorry' on it and she glanced up at Harry who was holding Faith in his arms but standing in the doorway still.

She got out of her chair and walked over to him and didn't immediately acknowledge him but kissed Faith and then kissed him.  "I know you are," she said.  "I'm sorry for snapping at you."

He gave her a lopsided grin.  "It's okay," he said.  "I probably deserved it.  I'm sorry love," he said and pulled her closer to him and Faith.

"No, you didn't," she said and kissed Faith's little cheek.  "I love you, Harry," she said.

"I love you," he said.

"Did you see Kaia's face when Karim started walking?" She asked and turned to see her best friend pulling her youngest into her arms and holding him tight.

"Yeah," Harry said.  "Zayn told me that he and Karim had been practicing.  He's been walking along the furniture, but not on his own.  Zayn said they've been practicing in secret," he said with a small smile.  "How are you doing?" He asked.  "You didn't overdo did you?" He asked and then saw her look.  "Sorry."

"Let's go sit down," she said and took his hand and pulled him to the living room.

Katia saw that Kaia was enamored with her baby at the moment and she went to find her brother in law.  "Zayn, can I talk to you?"

Zayn looked around the door of the fridge.  "Sure, what's up?" He asked.  "Were you able to pick out a dress?" He said and shut the fridge door.  

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," Katia said a little nervously and sat down.  She glanced towards the dining room where she could hear giggles coming from her nephews and niece.

"Is something wrong?" He asked and sat across from her.

"I know that Kaia said she wanted to pay for my dress and that money was no object," Katia said.  "But when I saw the price tag on the dress I picked out, I nearly fainted.  How could you let her spend money like that?" She asked still flabbergasted.  "It's too much!"

Zayn couldn't help but smirk.  "Did you try to argue with her about it?"

"Of course I did," she said.  "She shouldn't have agreed to pay for it.  And she probably had them bring expensive dresses on purpose.  Knowing I'd find one I'd fall in love with and there'd be nothing I could do about it."

"Did Marian tell you about when Kaia went shopping for her wedding dress?"

"Yes, my God, Zayn.  Did her dress really cost one hundred thousand pounds?"
