Part 2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A week had gone by since the incident near the convenience store. The whispers about it had still not stopped and I hated every single moment of it. Things with Adwin had not been going well lately. Especially after the fight that we had four days ago. As I sat idle on my bean bag in my room, the fight replayed like a broken record in my mind. Here is what had happened.

-Flashback-

I had just stepped into my house after an excruciating day at school, all I wanted to do was go to my room and lie there in solitude and not worry about my life. However, fate had other plans in mind for me. The second I crossed the threshold, my twin pounced on me like an angry wolf and started screaming.

"What is your problem Adra? Why are you such an attention seeker? If you wanted me to notice you and talk to you, you should have come directly to me. Why did you go and hurt my friend? practically screamed Adwin.

"What did I do? I asked in a meek voice. I truly had no idea what I had done wrong.

"What did you do? Please, don not act so naive. I will tell you what you did. About four days ago, you pushed Chase near the convenience store and hurt him very badly. Are you happy now, especially now that everyone is talking about you? Is this what you wanted?", screamed Adwin in my face.

I sat there in horror as still did not click in my mind as to what he was referring too. All of sudden I remembered, I had bumped into a random guy while rounding the corner of the convenience store.

"I am so sorry, but I did not push him, I accidentally bumped into him Adwin, I didn't want too. I responded weakly.

I honestly was drained and had no energy to deal with this, all I wanted was for us to talk again, just like twins do. I knew that wasn't possible since Adwin hated me but I could still try. There is no harm in trying is there? All of sudden, I was broken out of my reverie by Adwin slamming his hand down on the table next to us.

"Are you even listening to me? Do you take me for a fool? I cannot believe that you can still live with yourself after what you did too Ha-"

"Stop! Do not say her name. You know what happened and you know I was there. Just stop." I screamed. Saying this I rushed up to my room and locked the door.

She is where I drew the line. No matter how much I wanted things to be alright with my brother, he crossed a line today and she was where I went against him. He knows that that is where I draw the line.

-End of Flashback-

I sighed in disappointment as I slowly got up from my bean bag, I made way to the kitchen in order to grab myself some cookie n' cream ice cream as it was the only thing that got me through the hard times. Back in my room, I switched on Netflix and put on a random movie and sat there eating my ice cream. I closed my eyes giving into the tug of darkness that welcomed me, my brain was exhausted with all the drama happening around me and the fact that I had not slept more than fifteen hours in the entire last week. All of sudden I was jerked awake by the slamming of the door.

I groaned due to two facts, one, the fact that my sleep had been broken and I knew there is no way I was going to be able to fall asleep in the near future. Secondly, since my brother had gone a road trip with his friends and wouldn't be back until the day after, it had to be my parents. Great, even more lectures now. I was just saving up until the day I could finally leave this rotten house and move somewhere else, somewhere far, far away.

I know what you are thinking, Adra, your parents are a millionaire, take some money and leave. I was only sixteen and technically I would need their permission to leave we haven't been on the greatest of terms in the past year. I know that when I turn eighteen, I will receive my trust fund and there is nothing they can do stop me from inheriting it considering that it was set up by grandfather and that his will is enforceable considering that he is no longer with us.

In order to block out my parents, I switched on music playlist at the highest volume and stared at the mural of the galaxy on my ceiling while listening to Eminem on full volume. I sighed as I closed my eyes and recollected the happy times with my parents, Adwin and her. I smiled when I remembered a time when she and I played a prank on Adwin.

-flashback-

"Shhh, be quiet Adra, he might hear us", she said. I just rolled my eyes and continued removing all the screws from Adwin's room.

I had planned to remove all the screws that held everything together in Adwin's room and tie them all to one string which was attached to a fake present. When he would lift the present, everything would fall apart. I know what youre thinking. That is so evil, but that is nothing compared to when he put tanner in my body cream and I looked like an Oompa Loompa for two weeks, two whole weeks! She was being a lookout and making sure that he did not return anytime soon.

I was thinking to myself what an evil genius at the age of fourteen. Yes, fourteen. Any who, no sooner had I completed than I heard her hurriedly whisper, "He's coming. We have to go!!"

We both ran to my room and pressed our ears to the door.

"Oo. A gift wonder what it is."

We both smiled to ourselves as we heard that.

"Ahhhh, holy shit, what is happening?" screamed Adwin.

We both could not control ourselves and burst out laughing, more like rolling on the floor and nearly choking.

-End of flashback-

I smiled as remembered the good times. I wanted those old times to come back but I knew that that would never be possible. My thoughts kept me awake that night and every night after that until I met him. Now who is he? His name is Brandon Evans and he is what we call at school, the new bad kid.
