Unpredictable (Shawn Mendes)

Chapter 1: Homecoming

Catherine's POV
"Hi love bug." I say smiling to my two year old daughter Lila. She turns and smiles running over to me and I pick her up and she gives me a huge hug.

"Saw your man performing last night," my coworker and one of my best friends Destiny claims grabbing Lilas daily sheet from the board and handing it to me.

"He killed it!" She smiles and adds "He comes home today right?" As she tickles Lila, Who laughs

"We hope. Don't we Lilita" I say giving her a bundle of kisses

"DaDa" Lila says smiling.

We laugh as I say goodbye to my coworkers and with Lila in my arms I walk out of the daycare, I work at and send my daughter too, and open the car door as we hear a familiar song come on the radio and Lila smiles and starts kicking.

"Who's voice is that sweetpea?" I say buckling her in her car seat.

"DADA!!" She screams as we jam out to 'There's Nothing Holding Me Back' and I drive us home.

I pull into our subdivision and  into the driveway. Waving hi to the neighbors I grab the mail and newspaper, pull in the garage and put it in park. I turn off the car and get out. I unbuckle Lila and walk into the house where we are greeted by my cats and Shawn's new husky pup Hamilton. Ham for short. (Don't ask me why, Shawn was very enthused by the name) I hug Karen, Shawn's mother and give a kiss to his father Manny. Aaliyah runs up and picks a happy Lila up and starts to play with her. His friends Matt and Brian are seated on my couch with my best friends Jessika and Amanda.

"You guys do know this is my house right?" I say grabbing a pop from the fridge.

"Technically Shawn is paying the house bills sooo we free to come and go as we please" Brian says being a smart ass.

I fake laugh, flip him off then when his head is turned, I throw a pillow at the back of his head making him wince and he turns around glaring at me

" Sorry B, hand spazzed, can't control it" I reply smug and wink at him. Laughter erupts in the rooms.

"When does his flight get in?" Karen asks who has moved to play with her granddaughter.

"10-11. So if possible could you put Lila to sleep and stay with her until we get back?"

"Of course!!" She smiles. "Who are you taking?"

"Jessika."

"Damnnnnnnnn straight!" She says winking at me. I laugh.

Its about 9:00 when I am putting the finishing touches on my makeup and putting on my mustard button crop tank top on and leggings and brown sandals. I am fixing my platinum blonde hair and taking selfies when I get a text. I glance at the phone screen and smile instantly

"Hey beautiful can't wait to see you. Xx"

Even from afar he makes me fucking blush. I hear a knock on the door. That brings me back to reality

"Hey Chica we gotta go." Jess says to me I nod and grab my purse. I Say goodbye to Lila give her a goodnight kiss and tell Karen I will text when we got Shawn. We say goodbye to everyone and head off to the airport.

We arrive at the airport around 10:30. We decide to kill time till they get off the plan and go to sit at a Starbucks by the baggage claim. I order a Very Berry Lemonade and Jessika orders an Iced Carmel Macchiato. About 25 minutes later, Jessika leaves me to go to the bathroom and thats is when I see him.

Black boots, black skinny jeans and a green button down shirt with some of the buttons undone showing off his neck jewelry and his chest, and perfectly fixed brown hair. He has his guitar in one hand and he is pushing a cart full of suitcases with the other. As soon as I see Jess walk toward me I dart for him. Once he notices who is rushing toward him, a smile creeps up on his face as he puts down his stuff and I jump into his arms wrapping my legs around him and his strong arms and hands hold me in the air. I burry my head in his neck and he whispers in my ear,

"I'm home love, I'm home. "
