Donald's P.O.V

"Donald," she breathed. "How much, for this one?" Her soft voice became firmer and slightly agitated.

"Congrats kid, you made us a thousand tonight!" I replied smoothly.

"That's not enough Donald, is there anyone left?" Her voice was shaky but confident.

"Yeah, but he's a death trap. You will get another thousand for him though. "Her beautiful, icy blue eyes had a twinkle in them; a twinkle for the fight and the money. "He's about 10x bigger then you babe, you sure?" She nodded her head with slightly jerky movement. I couldn't believe how far she was willing to go. "Freddy, bring in Cole!" Dakota was already tired from her last four fights and this Cole kid was undefeated. But this wasn't my decision. I'm just the bookie, she's the fighter.

A brown haired guy presented himself into the circle of people, and the disturbed looking crowd of mostly drunken, dirty people went crazy. He was covered in separated tattoos and he had dark brown eyes that were extremely intimidating. His hair was in a swooping motion and he had a bit of facial hair just above his palish lips. "So who challenges me?" There was a hint of silence when he shouted like the Greek God he thought he was. Did he realise this was an illegal street fight not a WWE match?

She walked right past me and so I firmly grabbed her wrist, spinning her around until she collided softly with my chest. "What's up Donald?" There it was that loving voice I'd been waiting all night to hear. I bent down a fraction and gave her a small but meaningful kiss. When I looked back at her blue eyes and rounded face, she was blushing.

"You can still back out you know?" I was almost pleading even though I already know her answer.

"Me, pull out of a fight? I knew you needed testing for brain malfunction but why you're there ask them how many brain cells you have lost due to drugs and alcohol, plus it's a street fight; what can go wrong?" She sent me a sneaky smirk and then turned and pranced off into the crowd of men yelling out the normal stuff like 'we're in an alleyway sweetheart' and 'I'll call the ambulance now ok?' but my favourite was always 'you can blow two things tonight, the fight then me'. I always hated the newcomers because they never fully understood about how much talent Dakota actually had. It never really bothered her though and if it did she never showed it or told me that it hurt her. She was an amazing girl but she did have major faults. For example Dakota thought it was ok that she never opened up to me, ever and for a street fighter, street racer, drug trafficker and mechanic she's as boring as hell.

With that thought playing on my mind I went around and started taking bets. To my surprise there were a couple of people betting on Dakota to win, they've obviously been here many times before. Cole's better did the same and by the look on his face Dakota was getting a few too many bets for his liking.

"Bets done, time to fight." The announcer yelled as the unruly men cheered and whistled when Dakota bounced into the ring. Her long blonde hair was dripping with sweat and water, but she refused to tie it up. Under her eye you could see a black and blue ring forming, she was going to have a tough time explaining that to her family. Cole strutted up to Dakota sizing her up, Dakota had to look up, the top of her head only came to his shoulders and he looked down at her smirking trying to threaten her. They stepped back from each other and you could see Dakota working out strategy's in her head to help her win in this situation. This is why she won a lot of fights, she used intelligence as well as strength whilst her opponents usually only used strength.

"Fight!"the announcer screamed as he jumped out of the way. Cole leaped towards Dakota and threw the first punch, Dakota dodged the hit by jumping out of the way and Cole's face went red and his brown eyes went black. Dakota sent an unexpected punch into his face and followed it with a kick to Cole's thigh. All of a sudden, Cole went crashing to the ground with blood running from his nose forced by the collision of Dakota's bruised fist.

"Get up Cole! She's only a girl!" Cole's better was screaming at him in a hesitate voice. As Cole went to get up, Dakota sent two more punches, one to his face and one to his stomach making him wale and cough for air. He was now on his knees holding his stomach trying to find the balance to stand but only one of his legs were moving freely. Dakota gripped his hair and made him look at her, sending him a smirk and a wink, before she shoved his head towards the ground whilst bringing her knee up and letting Cole's head collide with it. Almost everyone was stunned including myself, she knocked him clean out within 10 minutes. That's definitely my girl!

We sorted out the money side of things whilst Cole's better was chucking a bucket of water on him to wake him up, the grey haired man shook his head and let out a deep sigh.

"Dakota, what was that about?" I was grinning as she counted her winnings whilst I was driving.

"He was limping slightly and due to the reputation of that man he must've been fucking sore for him to show pain" She sent a beaming smile towards me and we turned down towards her street.

"Oh, fair enough. One more question Kota, what are you doing with your life?" I knew that she was going through high school then she wanted to go to college and that she was trying to make it big in this world but after knowing each other for four years and dating for one, I never knew the reason why she fought.

"I'm doing what I have to do with it, fighting to keep everyone alive and protected." And there it was that stupid mask and confusing question thing she done. Every time I asked her about her family she would close up and put that 'You don't need to know' mask on, I hated it! We pulled up outside of her modest cream-coloured house. Her house proved that she wasn't rich but she wasn't poor either. She looked at me and her eyes had a twinkle in them, she bit her lip nervously. "Can we go to your place tonight?" She looked at me from under her eye lashes like she was pleading to come over. Who was I to deny her request?
