Dallas sighed as he flipped through yet another book. It had been ages since Ally had visited him like she promised she would. All these stupid books were filled with true love. True love. The thought sickened him, because he'd never be able to fall in love with anyone else but Ally. Unattainable Venus that she was, he'd never have hope at grasping her.
Her face floated his mind as he remembered all the moments they'd spent together. Then, he thought of Austin. Austin was Ally's best friend and partner in the music industry. Austin was his friend. Then, why had he seen that tender display on his way to visit the girl he loved? Tears threatened to fall, but he held them back as another costumer came in.
His eyes lifted from the book he was immersed in to find Ally and a half-hearted, smiling Austin."Hey, Dallas." Ally smiled. Dallas, before he could think, wrapped the girl in a bear hug. "Missed you." he whispered to her. He knew for a fact that her cheeks were red as he let her go. He was always so protective of her, so he decided to look away from Austin's glare.
"Dallas, I know you've met Austin." Dallas' eyes widened and he dreaded what was coming next. "Austin and I started dating." Austin put his arm around Ally's shoulder. Ally seemed to unwind a bit at his touch and grinned. Suddenly, Dallas felt as though he was drifting out to see. He was lost in the waters of the love he had for Ally.
"G-great." Dallas managed to say simply, and turned back to hus work. Shoving books into shelves had never felt much harder than now.
