Sirius:

As Sirius, James, and their new friend, Peter, walked towards the castle, they couldn't help but stare at it in awe. It was all so much grander than Sirius had expected.

When he and the others walked inside the castle, it was even better. He looked around dazzled until he saw an old woman with a stern face and spectacles in the front of the room.

"I am Professor McGonagall, head of Gryffindor house. Follow me towards the great hall for the sorting."

Remus:

Remus looked around at his surroundings, barely hearing Mcgonagal. He couldn't believe that something like him would be allowed in such a place. He didn't completely understand what was happening but a followed the crowd into a great hall. Remus walked in awe. The grand hall was the biggest room he had ever seen. Hundreds of floating candles lit the large room and four large banners with a Badger,  Snake, Raven, and Lion on them. He looked at each of the four long tables and every student sitting at them, noticing the colors they were wearing the same colors as the four banners he saw at the front of the hall. He continued looking around the hall until his eye wandered to a hat sitting on a stool. It seemed to have a face!

"I shall call out your name and you shall be sorted into your houses." Said Mcgonagal, then proceeding to unroll a sheet of parchment. She called out many names, and as she did, Remus more and more nervous.

"Potter, James"

When Potter(Remus just now learning his name) sat down on the stool. The hat just barely touched his head before is shouted,
"Gryffindor!"
And James ran to the table, excited of his new accomplishment. Only a short while later, McGonagall called,
"Black, Sirius", and the whole crowd went quiet. The only ones who didn't seem to hush were the Slytherins, all grinning ear to ear, ready for a new member in their house.

When he sat on the stool with the hat on his head, he sat for a while. It was as if he was arguing with the hat! But that surely isn't possible, is it? He started to grin before the even shouted "Gryffindor!" Sirius sat there for a little while, the hall quite. The awkward silence flooding the room. Remus was confused why the entire hall was silent, all the other times the proper house clapped for its new member, but this time, silence. What if this is what was going to happen to Remus? What if he just sat there, forever, and never got into his house?

"Whhooo! Go, Sirius! We knew you could do it! Whooo!" James cheered and the entirety of Gryffindor followed. Sirius took off the hat and ran to his seat next to James. They shared a high five before the hall was flooded with silence again, ready for the sorting to continue.

A short while later, and with Peter being sorted(he took so long!), it was time.
"Lupin, Remus"
Remus slowly walked up to the hat, trembling. He tripped slightly on his oversized second-hand robes on his way to the hat, spreading giggles across the entire hall. It was now when he thought of it. What if it didn't say his house? What it just said werewolf and that was that? He was tempted to run out of the castle and take the train back home, but he was too close to the chair at this point. When he sat down, he felt Mcgonagal place the hat over his eyes.

"Ahhh a little wolf, how curious..."
"I knew this would happen...just say it and let me go..."
"No that's not it...courage without the chance to prove it...very loyal! Could be in any house really...I know..."
"What?"
"A little Gryffindor!"
"No! You can put me with them!"
"Just trust me." Remus then realized there was no point in arguing with the hat anymore.
"Gryffindor!" The hat yelled and the whole Gryffindor table got up except for Sirius and his friends. They just all looked surprised. McGonagall took off the hat and ushered him to his seat.

"How did loopy end up here?!" James said looking a Remus. Peter giggled in the background.
"Yea how did he get here?" Peter said, grinning ear to ear from James's comment.
"Stop being so rude and shut up so the sorting can continue!" Said a girl with bright red hair and green eyes.

James automatically shut up and Sirius and Peter quietly laughed at him in the background.
"I bet five galleons he'll marry her," Sirius said to Peter.
"Why?"
"Cause potters have a thing for redheads, haven't you seen?"
"Good point"
"Will you guys shut up?" Said, James.
"Fine, fine" Said Sirius, allowing the sorting to continue.

When the sorting came to a close, a man with a very long beard stood up and the whole hall went silent.
"Welcome new students to Hogwarts and welcome back old friends. I am Professor Dumbledore, the headmaster here at Hogwarts! Though I would lie to have none, there are a few rules I need to tell you. Don't go into the forbidden forest, as its name states, its forbidden.  No fanged frisbees or dungbombs, though amazing items, they cause Filch to have a fit last year. The rest of the rules are on Filch's office door. Now, enjoy the feast!" And with that, Dumbledore sat back down in his chair and a large feast appeared.

Remus only just realized how hungry he was and reached out for a piece of chicken. Remus quickly pulled away, hand burned from what he now knew was a silver platter. He then carefully put food onto his plate, hand stinging from the large blister forming on it.

"Mr.Lupin?" The sudden voice caused Remus to jump and quickly turn around to see Professor McGonagall. " Professor Dumbledore  will you in his office now." Remus, immediately understanding why, hoped out of his chair and followed McGonagall out of the hall, not looking back in behind him.
