Mackenzie
When I came back into art I saw Johnny sitting next to Robb. Robb was semi popular but he was nice. He was on his phone and Johnny was concentrated on his work. I sighed and sat down next to Brandon. He kissed me immediately and put his hand back on my thigh. “You're mine right?” he whispered into my ear. I nodded and tried to work on the painting we were taught to do this week.
Johnny didn't look at me at all today and I kept trying to make eye contact. I wanted to say something to him but I just couldn't. With Brandon being extra clingy today, teachers and just my nervousness there wasn't a right time. Lunch was right before last period and I decided to take a walk instead. I was walking through the path in the woods near the school and I heard something. It was coming from a little dirt path off to the left. “Don't go into the creepy woods, Kenzie.” I told myself. I didn't listen and started walking slowly. As I came closer to the source I realized it was someone playing a guitar. You'll never guess who it was. I peeked around a big tree and saw Johnny sitting on the ground with one leg out and one knee up with a beautiful guitar resting on it. He was really good. I listened to him play for a while and it was like he was one with the guitar. Like the strings were just extra limbs. He eventually stopped playing once the third song was done and tried to stand up. I could tell he was struggling but I couldn't alert him to my presence. Go help him, for once. My conscious told me, but my ego had another plan. Leave him. He's beneath you. And besides, you don't want him to know you're here. By the time I was coming to a conclusion he was standing up. He slung the guitar across his back and slowly started towards me. Shit. I took off running, back to the school. Please don't let him see me, please don't chase me, please please please.
When I got back to school people were looking at me like I was crazy. Nadia walked over to me and laughed. “Was there a bear back there or something?” I laughed, trying to catch my breath. She put an arm around me and we started walking inside. I looked back over my shoulder and didn't see Johnny. Phew.
When school ended I groaned. Today was Day One of my tutoring with Johnny. I saw him walk out of class and head to I'm guessing his locker. I sighed and Brynn came over to me. “What's wrong Kenzie-Boo?” she asked. I laughed. “Nothing. I've just got tutoring today.” It was her turn to laugh. “Good luck with that!” she exclaimed before walking out of the classroom. I slowly packed my things and went to my locker. I stayed there for five whole minutes before dragging my body over to the library. I walked in and saw a few groups of people at different tables before I spotted him. His head was down, reading a book. I grinned when I saw him but I immediately wiped it off my face. What the hell? Why am I smiling for? He's a nerd. A weirdo. A freak. I shouldn't even be here right now. Part of me wanted to believe that, but I couldn't. I sighed and walked over to where he was sitting. He looked up at me with his beautiful green eyes. I smiled at him and he just stared for a second before looking down to close the book. I looked to see what book it was before he put it away. The Outsiders. I sat down in front of him and he looked nervous. “Um, I'm Mackenzie.” I extended my arm for a handshake and after a second of hesitation, he shook it. His hand was so soft. “I'm Johnny. “ he responded. His voice was husky, yet smooth and soft. “So I'm you're having problems with Algebra?” he asked. He still seemed a little tense and scared. It bothered me but I shrugged it off. “Yeah, I just, don't get it.”
He started to tell me things and work on my homework with me but it was a little difficult because we were across the table from each other. “It would be easier if we were next to each other.” I stated. He looked up at me. “Can I come over?” I asked. A war went off in his head before he finally nodded slightly. I smiled and walked over to sit next to him. We could finally work on the homework easier.
An hour later we were packing up our stuff and talking about the work. “I'm sorry I'm so stupid Johnny.” I said to him abruptly. He stopped what he was doing. “ You're not stupid, Mackenzie. You just needed a little help. You did really well today.” he said with a smile. Gosh his smile. It was enough to send my stomach into a fit of butterflies. I smiled back and we walked out of the library. We chatted about a few things before we had to split up. “So I guess I'll see you tomorrow?” he asked. “Obviously,” I said. He nodded and started to walk away. “Wait! Johnny!” I called. He turned around with a confused expression on his face. “Bye!” I yelled. He laughed and waved back to me then got into his car. I smiled and made my way over to my car as well. Today went alright.
I flopped onto my bed once I walked into the house and changed. I exhaled loudly. After I left school Brynn needed me to pick her up from her dad's house. Her car broke down so she couldn't leave herself. Then she wanted to go to starbucks and the mall. So me, being the good friend that I am, took her and we had fun but I was worn out. I thought about Johnny and smiled. I didn't apologize but I did talk to him so that was good. My phone buzzed and I groaned. I picked it up and saw that it was a text from an unknown number
?- Hey it's Johnny. Is this Mackenzie?
I grinned.
Me- Yeah
Johnny- Okay cool. I just didn't think it would be.
Me- Why wouldn't it be me?
The two dots appeared and there was a knock at my door. I ran down the stairs but I was weary of answering the door because it was pretty late and I was only in booty shorts and a t-shirt. When I opened the door I was relieved to just see Brandon but a little upset because I was so tired. He kissed me and pushed his way in the door. He turned around closed and locked the door then picked me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. He placed his hands on my back and kissed me once more. He pushed me against the wall and we made out for a good five minutes before Maddie came downstairs and scoffed. “Are you serious right now?” she said, crossing her arms. I pulled away from Brandon to look at Maddie. She looked ticked off and I just laughed. Brandon kissed me again and grabbed my shirt and lifted it over my head. I laughed again while Maddie stormed over.
“Absolutely not, fuckboy!” she yelled and pulled us apart. Brandon and I laughed and I put my shirt back on. “I don't know if I can even go back upstairs again without the chance of you getting pregnant!” she yelled. I just laughed and hugged her. “Oh Mads I love you. ”
We sat down on the couch and Maddie went back upstairs. Brandon immediately jumped over and crawled on top of me. I laughed and kissed him. His hand crawled up his thigh while the other went to my side. He kissed down my jaw and neck before he went to my chest but I stopped him “Brandon,” I said. He looked up at me. “I don't wanna go that far.” I told him. He nodded and went back to just kissing my lips.
Eventually we stopped making out and went upstairs. We watched Netflix for awhile before I started nodding off. I was laying next to Brandon with my head on his chest and his arm around me. “Baby, you're falling asleep.” he told me. I just moaned tiredly.
( not in a dirty way you lil nasties )
He chuckled. “I'm gonna go babe,” he said and I nodded. He kissed my head and left. Wait. I forgot to text Johnny back! I was going to do it but I was just too tired. That's all I remember before the claws of sleep pulled me in.
