Captured is teen futuristic fiction. It takes place hundreds years into the future where all third children can do things others can't. They call these things "Talents." The government wants them to build up an army, so when Third Children are born they take them. Some have managed to stay hidden with the help of their parents. The main character, Chloe, has managed to stay hidden 13 years of her life, until one day she is playing outside and someone decides to pay a visit.
When Third Children are captured the government rids them of emotion and any human characteristics that won't help them on the battle field. They call these "perfect" third children Deviants.
