Bad birthdays and Movie Nights

"You guys ready?" Apollo asked.

"No! But let's do it!" Percy cheered. He sat down in the silver chair, then his face went blank. Everyone in the throne room looked at the screen.

The image was on Sally Jackson on the phone in the filthy living room. "Yeah no, it's fine. I'll just tell my seven-year-old we can't go to the aquarium for his birthday!" Sally spat into the phone. She angrily hung up. She started muttering angrily.

"Mama?" A young Percy asked, peaking out from behind the hall corner. Sally Jackson looked up at the young child. She picked him up, cringing at how light he was.

"I'm sorry honey, they need someone to cover." She explained to the young boy. "I can't take you to the aquarium." You could see the heartbreak in the little boy's sea green eyes.

But instead of bursting into tears he started smiling brightly. "It's ok Mama! It's just the aquarium! We can go next year!" He cheered out, causing the woman to smile softly.

"I'm going to have to leave you here with Gabe, I'll bring back a blue cake though! How does that sound?" Fear immediately. clouded the small child's eyes. But still, he smiled.

"That'll be great!" He smiled, but not as brightly as before. Sally smiled back at Percy, putting him down. She grabbed her purse and opened the front door. "Bye, Mama!" Little Percy exclaimed, waving his hand furiously. Sally let out a laugh and waved back at the kid, shutting the front door. Percy turned to the couch stiffly, there sat the man everyone has learned to despise.

"So the bitch left you with me," he said nonchalantly, sipping his beer.

"Don't call her that," Percy muttered under his breath.

"What was that? Speak up brain-boy!" He yelled at the seven-year-old.

"Don't call her that!!" Percy yelled at Gabe. A murderous look appeared on the fat man's face. He got up from the couch and slapped the boy, causing him to fall to the ground.

"Don't raise your voice at me you bastard." Smelly Gabe thundered, kicking the boy in the ribs. Percy got up on his knees and faced the man.

"You told me to speak up," Percy sassed back, smirking his crooked smirk. This resulted in another kick to the ribs, and him falling to the ground again.

"It's your birthday isn't it boy? I've got to give your present!" Gabe hissed. Percy's eyes widened with fear. He got up and backed into a corner.

"Y-y-y-you don't r-really need to," Percy stuttered out, backing up further.

"Oh but I do," Gabe responded holding up a knife. Percy started trembling.

"please," Percy begged, "please don't."

Gabe approached the boy and grabbed his shoulder. He threw him to the ground and took off his shirt, revealing a couple of words etched into his back. Clearly from previous holidays. The fat man took the knife and started carving in a blank space. First a B, then an I, then the T, with a C H to follow. All the while the young Percy was screaming and crying on the floor.

Then the IM disappeared. Everyone turned to Percy. "What happened next?" Thalia asked.

"Nothing. He made me clean up the blood and I just hid in my room till Mom came home." Percy explained shrugging.

After the demigods had killed a monster and gone to a Pizzeria:

"Movie night?" Percy suggested as they walked out of the Pizzeria.

"All right, sounds fun. Which movie?" Jason asked.

"Frozen!" Leo screamed.

"No," everyone replied.

"Mission Impossible," Thalia suggested.

"No," Annabeth replied.

"Dirty Dancing?" Percy suggested, remembering it was his mom's favorite.

"Why not?" Piper concluded. "So we're going to watch Dirty Dancing."

"Whoo!" Percy cheered.

'Nother time skip because fuck you

When the credits started rolling Percy turned them off and looked around the room to see all of his friends sleeping peacefully. He looked down at Annabeth who was inhabiting his arms. 'I love my friends' he thought before drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
