Y/N knew that she shouldn't have kept her hopes up that Harrison would contact her before he got back from his mission, but she constantly checked her phone in hopes that he had messaged her. Days came and went, but no word from Harrison. Y/N found herself spending more and more time at the Osterfield's home, and even at Tom's flat while he was home for a bit from filming. She even found herself spending more time with her new friend, Leslie, from uni.

"So you mean to tell me that you haven't gone after this guy?" Leslie interrogated Y/N as she was looking at photos of the best friends.

"No, I haven't. Why would I?" Y/N challenged, trying to shove the thought away from her mind.

"It's obvious you care a lot about him. He's all you seem to talk about. Harrison this; Haz that. You love him." Leslie shared her observations.

"Lely, it's not like that. We're simply friends. Best friends." Y/N said in attempt to convince herself and not so much Leslie.

"Okay, sure. Whatever you say... Anyways, what about Tom? Is he single?" Both of the girls laughed as the subject changed.

Y/N loved talking about Harrison, but she never took into account what it must've been like for others to constantly talk about her best friend. To her, talking about Harrison almost made it seem as though he were still around. It helped keep her mind at ease from thinking that he could never come back. He would come back, right? The secrecy of the missions he went on didn't help calm Y/N's mind, but talking about him, especially in the present tense sure did help.

Tom was home after doing some comic con appearances in the States when he invited Y/N over to watch "Love Island" with him and Harry. Tom didn't want to admit it, but he missed his best mate. He missed the late-night chats about girls, going out to the club, making ridiculous videos for their Instagrams. While he loved spending time with Harry, he wasn't Harrison. Having Y/N slowly eased the pain of not having Harrison around, and Tom began to love having her around.

"I've got the popcorn! Do you guys need something to drink?" Y/N asked the two Holland boys.

"No love, we've got beer and one with your name on it!" Tom replied quickly glancing back at Y/N, which Harry caught a glimpse.

"Will you both shut the fuck up?! It's starting!" Harry raised his voice. "Nothing is getting in the way of my trashy tv." He muttered under his breath.

Y/N quietly moved over to the couch that Tom was on and sat near him with the bowl of popcorn in between them.

"KISS HER!!!" Tom yelled at the screen as he and Y/N both reached for popcorn.

Their hands briefly brushed up against each other in the popcorn bowl and they both shared a glance, feeling an odd sensation from the brief moment of contact. As Tom was about to move his hand away, Y/N's phone began to ring. It was Harrison facetiming her. She answered the call without thinking about Tom, Harry, or the show.

"Haz!!! I'm so glad you're okay! How was the mission?" Y/N couldn't get the words out fast enough.

"You know I can't say anything about it, but I think I can say it was okay. Is, is that Tom?" Harrison questioned seeing a few brown curls to the extreme right of his screen.

"Mate! Y/N is watching 'Love Island' with me and Harry!" Tom answered for Y/N.

"Yeah, and they won't fucking shut up!" Harrison could hear Harry yelling off screen causing him to laugh.

"Miss you too buddy!" Harrison said in between laughs.

Harrison started noticing rapid movements on his screen. Y/N left the Holland boys to their show and she walked into Tom's bedroom and sat on the edge of his bed. As she put herself back in Harrison's view, he smiled.
