My eyes fluttered open; I was lying on my side and could feel grains of sand beneath me. I scrambled to my feet, I was standing on a beach. I turned around to take in all my surroundings, the beach stretched a far way and behind me was a thick forest. I shook my head in confusion.

Where am I? Wait.... I don't remember anything. Nothing. Zilch, I couldn't recall a thing.

I looked down at myself, I was wearing a white shirt and denim shorts, barefoot. My chestnut hair splayed over my shoulders and down my back. I looked back to the forest.

I started to stumble up the beach towards the forest, I had no idea where I was, and my head hurt. When I reached the forest edge I leant against a tree for support, I held my head back and strained to remember anything. Suddenly a name popped in my head.

Ashley? Is that my name?

I suddenly heard voices in the distance, I panicked. Not sure what to do I started to climb, up and up placing my foot on branch after branch. I crouched in the fork of a branch and looked down through the leaves as the voices grew louder underneath me.

"Wait did you hear that?" I watched as a young blonde boy dressed in brown stopped under the tree. His clothes were dirty and ragged, he looked like savage with mud smeared on one cheek and a dagger clasped to his belt.

Another boy appeared behind him, he was much larger and shouldered past the first boy, "No, I hear nothing. Now keep moving or you can explain to Pan why we return empty handed." The smaller boy suddenly shivered and continued to walk by.

Pan? That name seemed to drift around in my mind, it seemed faintly familiar. I waited a few minutes before continuing to climb up, I needed to get a good look at where the hell I am.

As my head broke through the top leaves I gasped at the sight, the forest was huge. It stretched far and wide and then I realized I was on an island, a sea surrounded the whole land.

I began to climb down again and stopped on a branch to rest, my mind swirled with questions, all intertwining in my head. I took a deep breath to steady myself.

"And what do you think you're doing!?" a voice sounded behind me.

I jumped, startled, and lost my balance. I let out a scream as I started to fall and managed to grab onto a branch, digging my fingernails into the bark. I looked above me at a smirking face. He was a boy, around my age, he had brown messy hair and emerald green eyes. He was wearing a ripped green shirt and black belt. If I wasn't dangling from a tree branch, I might actually consider him cute.

I glared at him and tried to tighten my grip on the branch but only succeeded in loosening my grip.

He fixed me with a stern gaze, yet I could see he found this slightly amusing in a cruel way, "Who are you and why are you here?" He had a cute British accent.

"I'm not answering you," I sneered.

"Really?" his eyes lit up, "You do realise that your dangling ten metres above the ground?"

I glanced below me at the ground, I really was high up. I tried again to grip the branch my fingers were starting to slip. I looked back up at the amused boy, "Aren't you going to help?" I spat.

He smirked, "Tell me your name love." Love? Really?

I glared at him, "No, help me first," I persisted.

"Love, around here you don't make deals. I do."

"Well than I guess you're never going to know my name." I said stubbornly, knowing I was juggling my life in my hands.
