Dear reader,

Before you start reading this, you must ask yourself one question. Are you a believer?

Do not answer right away, it is not a spiritual question, and it is not a scientific one. I am not asking you to believe in one specific thing, I am just asking you whether or not you are ready to believe in what is beyond your capacity, things that you cannot control, nor understand, but you simply, believe in.

I am not asking you to believe in ghosts or fairytales, I am asking you to believe in darkness.

Because dear reader, you can deny it all you want, but we all have darkness within our souls, some of us embrace its beauty, and others... well others, just wait until they are captivated by its spell.

I believe in darkness. I always did, I am not afraid to let it guide me, I am indeed enchanted.

Now, I want you to believe.

Believe in the monster under your bed.

Believe in the demon over your shoulder.

Believe in the darkness in your mind.

Just, Believe.

Because once you believe, I will no longer be alone, I will forever be grateful as I will not be lunatic on my own.

When you believe, I will not be enchanted by darkness, kissed by the shadows, cursed by the underworld.

I will be... Me.

Luke watched the crumbled note attentively. He knew very well who wrote it down, it was so easy to figure that part out. Lunatic, gave it away. He felt a chill running down his spine, the hair on the back of his neck stood up at the words that kept replaying in his mind.

Why would she write that? He wondered. And she placed it in a very isolated place, he would've never find it if he didn't accidently drop his phone underneath the library's back shelves.

"Luke! Luke!" his girlfriend, Jessy, called out.

"Sorry, what?" he asked as he hid the piece of paper in the back of his pocket.

"Did you find your phone?" she asked impatiently.

"Uhm yeah" he stood up holding the small Smartphone in his left hand. "Got it"

"See, this is why I don't like making out in the library, I always end up losing stuff here" she stated as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Like your virginity"

"Shut up" she rolled her eyes but couldn't keep the smile off her lips.

He turned around when he heard a sudden thump in the place where he stood before.

"Did you hear that?"

"What?" Jessy asked.

Luke looked around the empty way. "Nothing" he concluded.

"Okay, let's go, Terry and Alicia are waiting for us in the lobby"

They walked out of the silent place and headed over to their close friends, who kept themselves busy through making out. "C'mon Ali, we gotta get to the cafeteria" Jessy wined at her busy friend.

The natural blond pulled away from the tall dark skinned boy. She pecked on his lip and grinned widely. "Alright, alright" Alicia turned to look at the tall model like girl. Her perfect tan and outstanding green eyes were always the envy of Alicia, even though she would never admit it, she was truly jealous of her perfect friend.
