(This story is from Phillips P.O.V)
I watched the video recording of my pregnant wife being executed for what seems like a millionth time, in the past 5 years, trying to find any clue, any lead, anything that may be useful for the plan I had in mind of upcoming executioner's demise.
I'm a high ranking Criminal Investigator, the status being so high that no one can tell me of for being 'too close' to this case.
I, and I mean everyone who've known about this case know who had done it. 'The Red Backs' as they've known, is a large gang that have been terrorising the country for few generations. And we also know their motive for my wife's death.
It was because of me that my innocent wife had been put into this kind of situation. It was because of me that I've lost my unborn baby. I was stupid and over confident in my ability. I was too focused on catching the 'Red Back'. That, alternatively got my wife and my child killed.
"My husband will never forgive you for this!" I heard my wife angrily shout on the video.
"Oh, I'm counting on it" taunted the voice of 'Red Back' leader, also known as Travis Carlston. That's the last conversation, the last words I heard from my wife before a loud 'bang' was heard and all I can see was my wife's body on the ground, covered in blood. She was shot on the head, a true execution style.
"Sir, we came across a lead" Marcus, my most trusted officer came into my office with a news.
"Are you sure?" I asked. So far, any given lead had led me to a dead end. Carlston is a very smart man who's always one step ahead. I didn't want any false hope.
"I'm positive that this is a lead we should check out" he confirmed.
"Alright, get the SWAT team ready. We'll leave in 10" I ordered. With a firm nod, Marcus rushed out of my office to inform the others.
You better watch your back. I'm coming to get your back bloody red!
