"Kim Taehyung is behind you."

"What?" Jungkook asked as he turned around the fastest he had ever done. He saw his small friend, Park Jimin, waving at him with a brown-haired male towering over behind him, his gaze switching between him and Jihyo. Jungkook couldn't tell what his expression meant. Sadness? Relief? Disappointment?

"Oi, Jungkook!" Jimin yelled. "Just stay there, we'll come over," he added as he saw Jungkook was about to stand up, but quickly sat down again and turned back to Jihyo.

"No, no, no, no – "

"What's wrong?" Jihyo asked worriedly. "Didn't you say he was coming back soon?"

"Y – Yeah but I didn't know when. Jimin said he'd pick him up and I think he told me, but I wasn't listening, and – " he kept on stuttering in panic, feeling his breathing becoming shorter and shorter.

"Jungkook, breathe," Jihyo whispered as she demonstrated him to breathe slowly. He did as she did and eventually managed to breathe normally again. "Why are you panicking? Isn't he your boyfriend?" she asked.

"We – we agreed to pause our relationship because of the distance," Jungkook whispered, not wanting to be overheard by anyone, "and it's making me anxious seeing him so suddenly again after two years. How do I look?"

Jihyo couldn't help but smile. "You look like a teenage girl who's meeting her idol," she chuckled.

"Shut up," he said seriously, "how do I look? I didn't even bother looking in the mirror after my shower and just headed out. Is my hair messy? Do I still have bags under my eyes? Do I - "

"Jungkook," she said to snap him out of his panic trance, "you look like your handsome self. Don't worry." He slowly nodded, and shortly after, the two males had joined them by their table.

"Hello, Jungkookie," said the husky deep voice Jungkook had been longing to hear for so long.

"Hi hyung."

Jungkook just wanted to cry. He wanted to wrap his arms around the elder's shoulders and cry his eyes out. He was feeling so many emotions. He wanted to ask him a billion questions. He wanted to just drag him out of the café and demand a long and heartfelt explanation.

But they were in public. And they were with their friends. Or, their shared best friend and Jihyo. Jungkook wasn't exactly sure what Jihyo was to him yet. And judging by Taehyung's expression, Jungkook could tell clearly what he was thinking: What. The. Fuck.

"Hyung," Jungkook started, but then all six eyes were on him, and he suddenly didn't feel like talking anymore.

"I'm glad to see you're back from studying abroad," Jihyo said after an awkward silence.

Jungkook didn't listen to their conversation. He couldn't concentrate on anything else than the person who he was so utterly in love with, just casually joining a conversation, right in front of him.

Jungkook's eyes went from his face to his hair. His hair wasn't blond anymore. It had turned brown, back to its original colour. It suited him, the raven-haired male thought, it didn't make him stand out as much as it did before – overall, he was still a beauty; he was perfection.

"Mate, why did you stop dyeing your hair? Have you forgotten our promise?" Jimin commented after Jihyo and Taehyung had chatted for a bit. Though he still switched his glances between her and Jungkook at times.
