"Hey! Dakota! You've got someone asking to see you!" Arnold the circus' trailer man groaned.
I walked over to where he directed me to find Dalton. Great.
"Am I allowed to come in here?" He asked politely.
"Only if the lady says it's okay." He grumbled walking away.
"Follow me." I said walking into my changing room.
Once we were in there I went behind the board that separated us and I began to change.
"What do you want?" I asked sounding a bit annoyed.
"Why didn't you tell me your parents work for the circus?" He asked sitting down.
I pulled my hair up as I slipped a new shirt on. "It's not exactly something I like to talk about."
I walked out from behind the board to find Dalton's sad expression turn into an admiring look.
"What are you looking at?" I asked scrunching my nose.
"You. You're beautiful Dakota."
I rolled my eyes as I sat down in front of him. "I think you should go Dalton. Go get a girlfriend or something." I said the last part quietly.
Truth was, I had feelings for Dalton. Guess that happens when a boy stutters a lot around you and is to nervous to even ask you for a bottle of ketchup.
"Do you think your parents would let me come with you? Just for the summer!" He suggested.
Would they? I don't know. And I don't want to find out.
"I don't think that's a good idea." I said softly as I stood up.
Dalton stood in front of me him being 6 foot not really helping my 5'5 stance. I tried to get out of the room but he was persistent and wouldn't let me leave. Next thing I knew he picked me up and set me down on a table. His arms next to my sides.
"Please Dakota. I can't let you go. Not yet."
I turned away only to have him grab my chin and turn it back as he pressed his lips to mine. They were soft and sweet. He smelt of faded Cologne and sweat.
He removed his lips from mine only to rest his forehead against mine. We sat quietly for a few moments when a grin creeped up on his face.
"I've always wanted to do that. So uh change your mind for some reason?"
I let out a small giggle. "I'll make sure that you can come."
"Great." He said grinning as he pressed his lips onto mine again this time more powerful and more confident.
