'Annoying Prinne' lit up on Danny's phone, just as she was about to zip her bag full of random stuff and mostly things her cousin requested her to bring. "What now Prinne?" Danny told herself. She swiped open the message on her phone and Prinne, her cousin who she thinks is annoying, arrogant and a spoiled brat left her another demanding message. "Don't forget to go to Brenda's Boutique and confirm my order there, I ordered that red short semi-formal chiffon dress with jewels and ask her when you'll have to pick it up, she's only going to stay in her boutique until 2:30pm, today, so you better hurry your ass off before she'll leave or I might never get that dress and if I don't get that lovely dress, I'll surely cut your head off! UNDERSTOOD?" Danny checked her time, and its 2:04pm. 'You got to be kidding me right? It will take 30 minutes to get there and if traffic stands my way, I might even arrive there at 3:00pm. Why did she just mention this to me now?! Uhg—' She thought of sending her a lengthy reply but it's worthless knowing her cousin who will simply find a way to slip off and reason out, so instead she just sent 'Yeah whatever.' Then hurriedly slipped her phone in her pocket, swinging her heavy bag unto her back and drifted into her red SUV car which she forgot to clean again.
The drive from her apartment to Brenda's Boutique was unusually fast, traffic wasn't that bad after all. Danny tapped on her wheel while waiting for the red traffic light making its countdown from 14, 13, 12.... Looking around, she saw an old man with ragged clothes and a missing shoe slumped behind the post nearby clutching a newspaper. She squinted her eyes to read the bold NEWS' headline. '2 Dead, 1 MISSING...' Her chest tightened after reading the word 'MISSING'. She then reminded of her mother who went missing when she was still 11 months and 8 days old, a few more days 'till she'll turn one. Her father Kevin James Strites has been so depressed and would even often call her mother's name in his sleep he would often say the same words over and over again sobbing at the same time.
'Oh my dear Elleyna, please come back, pleeaassee—'.
A sudden jolt of adrenaline rushed over Danny's body when a blast of horns went blowing behind her from impatient drivers trying to make her realized that she has been dazing off for a couple of seconds. She pressed down the gas so hard that she sped of immediately.
Just when it turned 2:27pm when she pulled her car for a stop in front of Brenda's Boutique. Slamming her car's door behind her, she ran towards the boutique when a fat woman with short curly hair was about to flip the 'Open' sign to 'Close'.
"Stop! Wait—". She called out.
"Sorry I'm closing early today, got to catch my flight you see. Will be closed for a week." The woman replied after finally flipping the 'Close' sign.
"N-noo, wait! This will only take a second — please!" Danny started knocking the glass door as the woman moved her head side-to-side while locking the door.
"I'll just have to confirm the order that was made!" Danny went down on her knees at the front door.
"I really need to have that dress, I beg you!" She begged holding her hands together with both her knees on the ground as she looked up at the woman behind the glass door.
"Oh for god sake young lady, you are making this look ridiculous in front of my shop! Stand up, your making those people's heads turn!" The woman quickly unlocked the door and swung it open.
"Now move along, this better be quick or I might delay my flight!" She said angrily as she strode fast inside the boutique.
Inside where mannequins dressed with beautiful gowns, mostly wedding gowns and some rows of hanged colorful dresses by the racks stretching towards the end of the room where a desk full of papers and measuring tapes on top of it.
