Chapter 6 - Basketball Practice

Chapter 6

Daisy's POV

Monday na ulit. 1 week has passed since Mrs. Cortez talked to us. Ang boring ng weekend ko, I just went shopping and swimming sa backyard.

So far, Kyle hasn't done anything naman to piss me off. Minsan iwasan pa rin pero minsan dahil sa barkada, nakakahang out ko siya.

"Good morning, miss," nakakagulat naman tong si Lucas, he just popped outta nowhere sabay poke pa sa waist ko.

"Morning, Mr. Lucas."

"Not excited to see me huh? And LUKE okay? Pangit ng Lucas, nakakalolo."

HAHAHA. Natawa naman ako dun. 

"Tawa pa."

"Sorry, natawa lang ako. Nakakalolo? Nice term HAHA. Ganda nga eh, LUCAS. What's up?"

"Nada mucho, how 'bout you AUREEN." (Not much)

Just like me, may lahi siyang Spanish. He's very fluent. Ako? Slight lang.

"I'm good with Aureen, hindi nakakalola. Nothing really, same old. Bakit ka pala nandito?"

"Edi ikaw na may magandang pangalan. Ayaw mo? Sige, alis na pala ako. Have a great day."

At nag walk away nga ang loko. 'Yan si Lucas, I don't really get him. He's very nice and at the same time, kinda mean.

"Uy, I was just asking. 'To naman oh, you're so serious today."

"Ah. Sige, bye."

TOINKS. He was the one who poked me first, tapos nung ako ang nangulit, nainis? 

We're actually close. He's my closest guy friend, I guess? Pero asar talo siya. HAHA. 

When the bell rang, I went to my first period. Katabi ko nga pala sa class na 'to si Kyle >.<

"Hoy payatot, Music Dept. daw mamaya after school."

"Alright."

"Geh."

He called me payatot? And he's being nice again. What's with him? 

Kyle's POV

Aga ko sa classroom ngayon. Sympre pag pasok ko, ngiti ng ibang girls abot tenga.

Pshh. Di naman ako babaero eh. Akala lang nila yun kasi lapitin ako ng girls, walang halong yabang. Just sayin'.

Asan na sila Luke? Chloe? Gian? Tagal nila o sadyang maaga lang talaga ako?

Napatingin ako pagpasok niya. Naghi sa kanya yung iba tapos nagsmile siya.

May dimples pala siya? Mag kabilaang cheeks pa.

Tinawag ko siyang payatot and I told her about what Tita Jane aka Mrs. Cortez told me during the weekend sa birthday party ng mutual family friend.

Di naman siya payatot, she's actually sexy. Long-legged pa.

Ang tipid naman niyang sumagot. "Alright" lang? Buti nga ako pa unang nagapproach sa kanya eh.

What the heck?! Scratch that. Ano bang paki ko sa kanya?

After school dumiretso ako agad sa Music Dept. kasi may basketball practice pa kami mamaya.

"Uy Kyle, andito ka na pala? Asan na si Daisy?"

"Ewan ko lang po ti--Mrs. Cortez."

"She's really talented, intelligent and very down to earth. Last year namomroblema ako kung sino ba ang ipapalit ko sayo kasi walang willing just as much as you are until I heard her voice because she was in my music class and I knew na she would be perfect to replace you kaya I asked her and she didn't hesitate naman. She performs naman pala talaga, not just for our school."

Why is tita Jane telling me all this? Pero I found out another side of Daisy. Di naman pala talaga siya antipatika.

Anong isasagot ko?

"Sorry, I'm late po."

Ayos, sakto pag dating niya.

"Oh hello dear, I was just telling Kyle about you. Have a seat."

Daisy's POV

Huh? Telling Kyle about me? Ano na naman kaya sinabi ng ungas na to kay Mrs. Cortez?

"So eto na ang schedule ng events, for now ang rehearsal natin is every Tuesday after school then as an event is approaching then sympre madadagdagan yun. Okay lang ba kayo dun?"

We both nodded as she went on...

"Some of the events, my certain songs kayong kakantahin. Sometimes solo, mostly duet. For some events naman, you can choose the songs you want to sing but with my approval of course. I know you are both experienced and you both know na it's better if you show your emotions when you're singing so just for the sake of the audience, try to bring out that chemistry. Trust me, meron kayo nun."

After few minutes of talking, we're finally dismissed. 

I keep on telling myself na I'm doing this for my school, walang personalan as Kyle said. *sigh*

As usual di ako nagsasalita pag labas ko. I don't know where I'm actually going but I continued walking. Di ko pa feel umuwi eh.

Kyle's POV

Tahimik na naman siyang umalis. Lagi naman eh. Iniiwasan niya ako lagi. I can't blame her.

Who cares?

Dumiretso na ako sa locker room to change before I went to the gym. 

"Yo dude, why're you late?" asked one of my teammates.

"Errands, dude. I have a valid reason. Ikaw?"

"I was looking for someone eh pero di ko naman siya mahanap."

"Babae tol noh?"

"Yeah. Ikaw musta na yung babae mo?"

"Di ko siya babae tol. Wala akong gusto sa kanya. Walang pinagbago, masungit pa rin. Kasama ko nga lang kanina eh, saklap noh? I need to work with her for the school. Performer kaming pareho."

"Dude mauna na ako baka magalit si coach. Maya mo na ituloy. Bilisan mo na rin!"

Freshman siya. Astig din ng batang to eh, pinakamakulit sa team kaya kami nagkasundo. Lagi kami magkasama every basketball practice.

Sayang nga lang at magkaiba kami ng floor kasi sophomore na ako kaya I barely see him around except in the gym and when we play basketball outside.

After the practice, nagmamadali na siya, may naghihintay daw kasi sa kanya.

Lumabas na rin ako pagkagtapos kong magbihis.

Daisy's POV

Andito ako sa labas ng gym, waiting for Dustin. Usually pag may basketball practice siya, umuuwi na ako.

Lumabas na mga kateammates niya at sa wakas andito na rin siya.

"Musta practice? Ready to go home na?"

"Tiring as usual. Saan ka galing? Hinahanap kita after school pero wala ka naman."

"Kay Mrs. Cortez. Tinext mo sana ako."

"Nagmamadali na kasi ako eh...T-tol!" Huh? Sinong 'tol sinasabi neto?

I turned around to see who it was. "K-Kyle?"

"Oh bat parang gulat na gulat ka?" sabi ni Kyle.
