"Young Lady, you need to stop playing now and start getting ready for your parents important gathering tonight." A middle aged women said as she walked into the little girls room.
The room itself was one that obviously belonged to a young child; however, when you first stepped into the room, you would probably mistake it as the bedroom of a little boy.
Sitting on top of the little sailboat shaped bed, sat the Shin families youngest child. A cute little girl, her hair tied up in pigtails on both sides of her head. In her lap was a picture book and surrounding her tiny body around the bed were little hand made puppets that the child's caretaker had made to go along with the book during story time.
"Miss Mina.." the woman spoke as she stood in front of the child. "It's time to get ready."
"Mrs. Norma, I don't want to go!" The child shouted, jumping up from her position on the bed and running to the other side of the room. "They always pinch my cheeks and tell me to eat weird things I've never seen before!"
The older woman smiled down at the child, picking her up. "Now, now.. when you get back we will have story time." She told the child as an attempt to calm the upset girl that now sat leaning against her hip.
"With the puppets?" Mina asked, looking up at her caretaker. The woman nodded, and Mina let out a sigh, giving into the woman's request for her to dress appropriately for her family's gathering later that night.
Mina stood in front of her mother as they waited at the front door to greet the guests. She wore a little white dress that had black outlines where pockets sat on the waist line.
Her mother tapped her hand lightly, stopping Mina from pulling at the hem of the dress' skirt. If it was up to Mina she would have worn her black and white striped shirt, paired together with her white overall shorts and sailor hat; however, her mother said that a young later should dress like a proper woman and not a sailor.
As guests made their way into the house, Mina bowed her head repeatedly at every person that entered, her curls becoming messy after the repeated action. "Dear, why don't you go and mingle with the other children on the deck?" Her father whispered to her.
