As the afternoon sky filled with color, we stood alone in the abandoned city, standing on the remaining pile of ruble from the destroyed building that had fallen not long before.
"Well, I suppose this is it.." the teenage boy spoke, referring to the ending of his life, which would be in only a matter of minutes.
My face was stern, and blank as I stared at my master. I had completed my task after the short 8 months that seemed to go by in a flash. "Yes, I suppose it is."
"Can we get this over with quickly?"
"Gladly; I'm not one for long, tearful goodbyes." I stated emotionlessly.
"-but one last thing..." I stood still. "Thank you." A slight mask of shock crosses my face. It's not everyday that someone thanks you before you take their soul...
He took my expression as a sign to elaborate, "For helping me, I mean. I know it doesn't seem like much, but you gave me my final wishes. I've lost all of my family, and you kept me company." I could tell he was trying to keep a poker face.
I nodded, and my expression had dropped.
He nodded as well, lowering his head as a sign for me to proceed.
I was hesitant, not wanting to be too gruesome as I quickly ended the boys life. The last thing to come from the boy was a loud scream of agony as I took his soul for my own. It filled my stomach with ease, leaving me satisfied once again.
I had turned back - ready to turn away from this world and onto the next, but I quickly paused with hesitation, unsure of where my next steps should take me. I didn't know what I would have to face if I were to go back.
I had been aware that I would have to do this in the past, but had discarded the thought quickly. I shook my head, trying not to overthink the subject, and told myself that it would be simpler to continue tomorrow, and started on my way.
I got to town in a matter of seconds, though the sun had already set by that time. The usually busy town was deserted in the moon light. The fall night was cold as I walked the streets, being glad that I was left to my lonesome.

It was dawn and my mind began to wander. And so did I.
I had found myself in the same, old abandoned town from the day before; though I have to admit, my curiosity had grown when the news about the boy's death had spread around town so quickly.
It had apparently caught the Scotland Yard's interest when they found that the young boy was previously declared dead eight months ago.
I stood curiously from afar, out of sight from others. There was a lot commotion coming from the group, but one couple had peaked my interest: a young boy, with a tall, jet black butler by his side.
The reason for this, was because I had quickly sensed him to be another demon.
I stayed put and watched them carefully.
'Why is that young boy with such a creature? Maybe he does not know.. So unfortunate....'
The boy talked with the Scotland Yard and most of the conversation didn't seem interesting from my point of view, but one important detail stood out to me; he had introduced himself as a "Phantomhive."
I used to be very familiar with the Phantomhive family. The previous generation, at least. They were so well known around here, it was hard not to know them.
I was unaware that they had a child. I had known that they worked with the Queen, so it had made more sense of why the boy could be there, though I was still left confused.
The duo had left the group, but as they got closer to me, the butler stopped the younger male and pointed my direction while whispering in his ear. Their heads darted in my direction and I tensed. I quickly tried hiding myself back behind the corner of the shackled building, but I knew it was too late.
Before I had time to even think, the butler had grabbed me by my chin, turning me around and pulling me close to his face.
'I'm guessing personal space isn't an option with this guy.'
He had a closed-eyed smile on his face as he said, "Excuse me, Miss, but I sensed you might be a danger to my Young Master."
My eye twitched. "Excuse me?"
"If I may, why are you here." He hissed.
"I know this may sound strange, but I was near the area and hearing about the rumors of this case, I had gotten curious." I tried to elaborate.
"You just decided to pass by? And what reason do I have to not dispose of you right now?"
"Because a child is present." I stated softly pulling out of his grip easily. "Plus it would be rude!" I said in an overly-dramatic voice.
Let's just say that he did not look pleased with me. He turned around looking for the presence of the child.
"Sebastian. Bring her with us."
"Young master—"
"The Scotland Yard is only 20 feet away. It would bring great trouble to us if we were to discuss this here."
We both looked at him, eyes wide. The man nodded and practically threw me over his shoulder, despite my obvious struggle and continued bringing me to the neatly polished carriage.
He briefly placed me on the ground once more helping the child before us both, and at this point I had given up.
Besides, my curiosity had gotten the best of me; so why go back now?
