Chapter 13

My alarm clock wakes me up at 6:30 i hit the snooze when it first tried getting me out of bed. Today was the last day, finally I thought. I walked over to the bathroom and started the shower, I had gotten a text from max that said he's gonna come to Cali and spend the summer with me! I was so excited he'd be here in a week! A WEEK!! after my shower I grabbed some shorts and one of his t-shirts. The smell was fading, but it smelt like him, I held the short up to my nose and took a good whiff. I exhaled and grabbed some good as I walked out the door, not bothering to put on makeup or brush my teeth, I had gum in my locker and I really didn't care right now, I was to happy. Happy that I was gonna see Matt In a week for the whole summer, Happy that it was the last day of school. I would finally get away from the bullies for a few months. Happy that I was a week clean, I'm slowly getting there but doing a whole lot better. School was a daze, I was just excited to see my boy! The rest of the week flew by so fast, even if i didn't get up till noon everyday. Friday came around, and although Matt's flight didnt get in till 10 in the morning I still got up at 7:30 to curl my hair. I wanted to look extra special for my guy when he got here. I are breakfast and brushed my teeth, 3 times and picked out what to wear. I decided on a pair of Miss Me jeans, a black crop top with a white bandoo under it, my black vans with white laces and my hair curled. I looked in the mirror after I was ready, and gave myself a small smile, Matt was going to love this. I sat on the couch watching tv till about 9:00, I got up to leave, the drive to the airport took half an hour. Just as I was about to leave, I got a call on the house phone.

Me: "Hello?"
Lady on the other line: "W..W..winter?" She asked stuttering and sniffling after she choked out my name. I new it was Matt's mom right away.
Me: " Yes, is everything okay?"
Her:"I'm.. I'm afraid.. I'm afraid there's been a terrible accident."
Me: "wha.. What happend??" I asked
Her: "Matt's plane.. Um crashed, everyone on board, passed away... Including him"
My heart stopped then twisted , my throat knotted and I couldn't breathe.
Me: "Thank you for calling" I sobbed through the phone and hung up. I leaned against the wall and slid to my butt. I screamed And screamed until my throat became sore and nothing came out. For a long time, could have been minutes, maybe hours, maybe days but I just sat there on the floor sobbing and screaming.
