Chapter 6

Bruce's POV

 So Liz and I are basically dating but taking things slow, which is totally fine with me. I'm not the kind of guy who likes to rush into a relationship. For the most part, I like to take things day by day and go with the flow. Liz is such a lovely girl, I'm so lucky to both have met her and have her as my partner on this project. It took us and Tony three hours to clean up the lab but it looks good now. I'm still embarrassed that I Hulked out over nothing. I couldn't help it entirely... Tony's my best friend but he's a big flirt despite being a married man.

   Cleaning up the lab tired us all out so we decided to cut out from work early today and have dinner together. We ended up at a local Wendy's. I'm treating everyone since I was the one who caused us to have to waste a few hours cleaning up my mess. Tony and Liz both objected but caved in when they saw how serious I was about making it up to them somehow. I'm also allowing Liz a paid day off tomorrow. Tony already planned on taking tomorrow off anyways. Plus I don't get much alone time and I think I could use some personally, you know to regroup and what not.

    Dinner goes well, all of us are too hungry to do much talking tough. We linger around for a bit longer after we finish eating before I take Liz home and Tony goes back to Stark Tower. I give Liz a warm hug and kiss on the cheek before she goes into her apartment. She asks me if I want to stay and have some coffee or tea. As tired as I am, I want to spend a bit more time with her so I accept her offer. 

     "Bruce, I know I'm not the best housekeeper so I apologize for the mess. I also have two roommates that mean well but often do what they want whenever they want. Both of them are out right now but I'm sure you'll meet them at some point." I nod. "I'm sure they're both nice girls. I look forward to meeting them sometime. Do they treat you well?" She gives me a soft smile. "They do. I'm lucky to have them as friends." I smile and breathe a sigh of relief.  

      "Bruce, I don't mind coming into work tomorrow. I feel bad for you having to work alone tomorrow." I swat her concern away. "No, none of that. I caused a major mess today and you and Tony both had the patience to clean it up. You two didn't have to but you did. I appreciate that so much. You deserve a day off love." I blush when I realize that the word "love" slipped out of my mouth. Liz giggles adorably and bites her lip. "I think the sound of that word coming out of your mouth." 

     I smile. "Well I'll be sure to call you that a lot then. I think it suits you too." I wrap my arms her from behind and gently squeeze her. "I should get going but I really enjoyed spending time with you after the disaster at work today. I'll call you tomorrow okay?" She takes us both by surprise and gives me a gentle peck on the lips. "Talk to you tomorrow Bruce." I stand there like a dork for a moment before giving her a peck on the lips back, truly loving the way our lips crash against one another. "Good night beautiful." She blushes. "Good night handsome." I head home feeling the happiest I've been in a long time.
