~Kamryn's POV~
I plopped myself onto the beanbag chair in Delaney's room. "So are you excited for our junior year in high school!?"
Summer was ending and although I would miss sleeping in and staying up late, I was excited about the idea of high school.
I know. Crazy thought, huh? More work, strict teachers, nasty school lunches, and the usual.
But the potential of meeting new people, and maybe finding a cute guy? I couldn't get it out of my mind.
"Eh. I'm just excited for dance. How about you?" Delaney said.
I explained my feelings to her, "I am excited for dance too!! Cute guys!! School dances!! And did I mention attractive guys?"
Delaney laughed, "Yah I think you made that a clear point. But, how are we supposed to get their attention? I mean, we are not quite the popular people and we are definitely not the nerds so I don't know. I feel like we're just kind of there. You know?"
I nodded, "Yah. I have an idea though. We need to make an awesome first impression!"
Delaney grinned, "Is this idea going to blow up my microwave again?"
"No but we are going to need some blue hair dye."

"Ok ready?" I asked.
"I guess," Delaney shakily replied.
I decided not to do all of her hair blue because that would've been too bold. Instead, I just did the underside of her hair.
But what for? She already had a boyfriend, Shane. Why couldn't I get a boyfriend?
I turned the chair around so that she could see herself in the mirror. She let out a squeal of excitement.
"Oh. My. Gosh. I love this so freaking much!!! Thanks!!"
She ran her hands through her hair and took some selfies (because that's what she does for almost every occasion).
It was dark though, so I had to run home to be able to be ready for the first day of school.

~Delaney's POV~
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and the smell of waffles in the air. I grabbed my phone and saw a text from Shane.
"Good morning beautiful," it read. "Can't wait to see your gorgeous face today :)".
I sighed and blushed. I love Shane so much. He always makes me feel on top of the world.
I texted him back, "Morning! I love you soooo much can't wait to see you <3".
I grabbed my first day of school outfit and put it on. I was wearing a sheer beige/pink tinted tank with a white cap sleeve shirt underneath, Aztec leggings, black combat boots, and a necklace with my initials on it.
I combed my amazing new hair and thought about what Shane would say when he saw it. Probably something sexy.
I quickly made my bed and tossed the throw pillows on and gracefully headed downstairs where a stack of waffles awaited me.
"Morning sunshine!" my mom said enthusiastically while her and my dad were rushing to get my 2 younger sisters ready for school.
"Morning! I'm gonna take some waffles ok?"
"Sure honey, that's fine!"
Well, so far, my day was going pretty awesome.

~Kamryn's POV~
I woke up to my favorite songs blasting from my phone. I got up and looked in the mirror and freaked out. I always look super ugly before I do anything to my face.
Downstairs, I hear my mom talking to my stepdad. "Last night was sweet. She giggled slightly and my stepdad answered, "No problem baby. I love you." And then I heard their make out session.
"Ew," I thought to myself. "I'm so glad I'm going to my dad's house this week." He doesn't have a girlfriend and I'm an only child, so basically I get a lot of the house to myself.
I changed into a neon green cropped shirt saying, "Blood. Sweat. Pirouette." And a gray tank underneath to cover my stomach. I also slipped on some short shorts, and converse and called it good.
I did my makeup and walked downstairs. "Wow. I am gorgeous," I thought when passing a mirror. I laughed at myself. I'm really turning into Delaney!
When I reached the kitchen my mom had some eggs and toast ready for me to eat. I was excited because that was my favorite breakfast.
"Thanks mom!" I said while stuffing my face.
"Maybe today won't be so bad," I thought.
