chapter 9 *Choices

When I woke up my dream was took up merely a fragment of my memory but I remembered Rhydian transforming into that... thing. I needed to know what on earth was going on. I stomped down stairs I was determined to set things right, to get some answers as well but first I will be setting things straight.

"Okay I have had enough of this 'stale mate' I believe some answers are due and I sure as hell that I deserve them." Mr and Mrs Quimpton looked scared they obviously didn'texpect that from me, well I'm tired of all these empty questions.

"Ok Celina, I guess we knew this was coming...but you must understand that everything happened, happened for a reason. Alright so let's start at the beginning, you... and all of us (Mrs Quimpton pointed to my family) are Wolve we aren't werewolves or anything like that, our species was created in a lab experiment gone wrong." She went quiet almost as if this was hardest thing she ever had to say. Mr Quimpton noticed this and took over.

"You see round about 150 years ago, a brilliant scientist named Dr Liteman was studying animals, particularly the now extinct Guardian Wolf he realised the medicinal purposes of its claws. After years of successful research and experiments, he fell terribly ill and his wife tried everything but no medicine at the time could save him all except the one he had created, Demiprobate. Desperate she came to his bed and injected the serum into him but it did not work. Nothing was wrong in the beginning but after 6 months something happened he changed. He had advanced abilities but changed into a wolf like creature. He went crazy."

I was shocked. Nothing made sense honestly the whole secret werewolf civilastion made more sense to me, not an experiment gone wrong.

"Wait is that it, if he was the only one how are we here." I asked. "Okay... during the second world war the Germans had a secret weapon they were planning to eventually use to keep control over the world, to help create the perfect race. They had discocered Dr Litemans serum and not knowing the side effects, weaponised it and improved it and they injected it into the 'imperfect' German soldiers and some civilians. Now I am sure you can guess what happened next there was now a race of half wolf half man species, that was used as the ultimate weapon but when the war ended they tried to get rid off them but things didn't go to plan.

After a very complicated history on Wolve and humans and everything that I never knew about my ancestors but I still didn't know what happened to my parents but something told me they didn't know either. To sum up my history, the Wolve race had escaped the claws of evil and was being minted and that has to slip into the shadows. There were many wars between them and the hunters and wars between themselves, they eventually split into four packs, Vangs, Spiral, Blooderooi and finally the biggest of them all Square Moon.
But that was a long time ago now no one knows if the other packs are still operating.

Square Moon has a big get together once a month during the full moon as that is when us Wolve are most active and when we are the most powerful or some wierd thing like that. "So..." what I'm confused what was Shannon saying. "So.... what?" Suddenly Rhydian emerged from upstairs

" So are you going to come with us and become a part of our pack or are you going to just wonder around like a lost soul" he said. "Rhydian don't be so blunt, honestly, it is a big decision she has to make, you make it sound as if it will be the death of her if she doesn't become part of the pack." Scolded his mom.

"Well it is kinda life or death choice or do you forget the large price on her head!"
" RHYDIAN That is enough from you go get ready for school, everyone else get in the car!" We all stared at Shannon she hardly ever shouted. "NOW!"

We all slumped into the car except for Rhydian who lumbered upstairs to change out of his pjamas. We got to school an hour late but Shannon wrote a note on how the car wouldn't start and the tire popped and bla bla bla. She signed it with a big flourish and we were ushered inside by her and the hellish day began. But I couldn't concentrate as I had a huge 'life or death' as Rhydian out it, choice to make.
