The day seemed to be going extremely slow today. My classes seem to drag on, longer than usual. I guess it also didn't really help that I wasn't paying any attention to my teachers either. All I wanted to do was see Shawn again, hang out in the band room. But time just had to hold me back from doing so. Right when I was just about to fall asleep in hopes that it would speed up time, the lunch bell rang. I jumped out of my desk and ran for the band room, bumping into several people during the process. Unfortunately for me, I ended up bumping into Leah, Keira, and Katie.

"Where are you going, our lunch table is that way" Keira pointed in the opposite direction of where I was going.

"To the band room to-"

"THE BAND ROOM?! YOU"RE GONNA EAT LUNCH IN THERE?!" Leah gasped, to which I rolled my eyes.

"Quit being over dramatic" was all i said before I continued to run towards the band room. Katie yelled something behind me, but I couldn't hear what she said because of all the noise caused by what I like to call the "lunch hour rush". When I finally made it to the band room, I lifted my hand to knock on the door but the door flung open before my knuckles touched it.

"Hey!" Shawn beamed letting me inside and shutting the door behind me.

"Hi." I dropped my bag on the ground next to his guitar case but my song book fell out of it since I had forgotten to zip it up because I was in such a rush to get here. I bent down to retrieve it but he beat me to it. He picked it up and looked at the cover. Unlike Keira, he didn't smirk at the title.

"NO DON'T LOOK THROUGH THAT!" I yelled as I dove towards my book, but Shawn held it out of my reach, and since he's 5'11 and I'm 4'11, he didn't have to hold it up that high. He flipped through the notebook, reading every lyric to every song I've ever made.

"Did you write these" he asked.

"Um, yeah."

"These are really good. You've written so many songs you could make two albums out of these" he commented, then he got this weird look on his face, like he was planning something. I stopped trying to get my song book and looked at him confused.

"What are you thinking about?" He smiled a devilish smile and said

"Sing to me." I froze on the spot.

"WHAT, NO! Give me my book back" I demanded.

"Why not, I sang for you yesterday" he whined.

"NO!"

"Fine, then I guess I'll just keep this until you do" he said shoving my book in his back pocket. Before I could protest he went on

"Hey, the owner of the Blue Chair Cafe told me that a girl about my age is going to perform with me tonight. He said that she is short, brown haired, has brown eyes, and is going to play the piano." he looked up from his pocket and looked me in the eyes.

"You wouldn't happen to know her, would you?" he grinned. I looked down at the ground and mumbled "goddammit". He laughed and said

"How are you going to perform in front of people tonight if you can't even play for me!" He has a point.

"It's just- you don't understand" I confided digging my foot into the floor still avoiding his eye contact.

"Make me understand" he insisted. I bit my lip, do I trust him? He's not like Leah, Katie, or Keira, but will he react the same way they did? Inhaling deeply, I confessed

"the last time I played for my friends they wouldn't listen to my music. They seemed like they didn't want to be here, like my songs were that terrible." Tears started to rush to my eyes but Shawn pulled me into a hug before they could splash down my cheeks. I buried my head in his hoodie, for some reason i felt really safe in his arms.

"I want to be here. I want to hear your songs" he whispered into my ear.I smiled at his comment until he pulled away from our hug, picked up his guitar and began to sing "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. I couldn't stop smiling while he sang, even when he finished. Why did he have to be so nice and sweet?

"I know exactly how you feel. not a lot of people wanted to listen to my covers when I  first started to perform. But I never stopped singing. you can't let that stuff hold you back. It's tough in the beginning but trust me, once you get past it you'll be so glad you didn't stop" he advised. Shawn reached out and held my hand firmly as if to say "I'm here for you", I could feel my face heat up. the rest of the time we ate our lunch and talked until the bell rang. Before we parted our ways Shawn stopped me and joked

"You owe me a performance, but I guess you'll pay it off later tonight". He winked then walked to his next and I went to mine. The day progressed at the same pace it did earlier except all I wanted was to play at the Blue Chair Cafe next to Shawn.
