"Mrs.Winefield we need you to push one more time." She screamed in pain, tears streaming down her face. My father held her telling her it's ok he is right there. That moment was then interrupted by high pitched crying. "Its a beautiful baby girl; what will you name her." The nurse looked at my mother. "Mrs. Winefield, are you ok?!" My mother's eyes slowly dimmed with her lovely smile still there. My father got up calling her name shaking her shoulder. "GET THE BABY OUT OF HERE NOW!!", other doctors rushed in to the room as the heart line went flat. The screams of my mom's name from my father's voice ran threw the hall as he cried. The doctors did everything they could but nothing worked; it was to late she had died. My father was depressed and didn't leave that room till a nurse had asked him," would you like to see your daughter now?" He looked at her his eyes red from crying but he nodded and followed her to the nursery. She pointed to me; I was restless, fussy, and loud. He looked at me and a slight smile went across his face,"she's as beautiful as her mom." The nurse smiled and looked at him,"you still haven't named her would you like to?" He looked at me his gaze crystal clear, "Iris, after her mother."
