Devon wasn't the one for doing favours to anyone and he silently chuckled to himself that no one knew how much more difficult he could make the questions for people whom he didn't like in just a look..

Sighing he went through the list of candidates left which mentioned another 4 to go ..

As soon as Samantha entered Devon's cabin she could feel how not easy this was going to be. Analysing the frown on his face she decided that she will just be her usual self and see where it would take her..

Devon was not expecting the girl to be so out of the ordinary- looking ..he loved his Clara too much but he knew how to appreciate beauty in a platonic sense.. Though Going through her resume Devon surprisingly realised that she definitely had the qualifications to work at the position being offered..

He tried to make simple conversation just to judge her handling capabilities..

' So miss Samantha.. What brings you here to Brooklyn..? He inquired

' I'm looking for a job Mr. Callahan .I have my mom back home and am the only one she can rely on to for most of her living' ..'at the moment I have trusted her in the hands of my best friend so that I could come here and work out something for myself and can later shift her here too .. I can assure you that I will work to my best and would never give you any reason to think otherwise ..'she replied with a small smile on her face

Devon couldn't find much of by which he could not be offering the job to the girl ..so he decided to trust his instincts and go on to give her the job..

'You can start working Monday miss Samantha ' he stated firmly shaking her delicate hands..

Samantha's joy knew no end .. She wanted to dance and just give the biggest hug to Mr Callahan for trusting her so much (which she knew he wouldn't really appreciate) .She also had to keep in mind that she needed to pay back Brian somehow as it was because of him that she got the job in the first place ..

Lost in her own bubble of thoughts Samantha exited the interview venue and was just reaching into her bag for her phone to call both her mom and Stella when she bumped into something hard which faltered her step and before she could realise that she's landed the floor on her ass ..two pair of strong hands were around her waist holding her up ..

Coming back to reality , Samantha saw herself looking into a pair of dark grey eyes almost black ones.. Staring into her own blue ones!!

'where the hell do you think you are walking like that miss '! The voice holding her shouted.

Jolting out of her reverie ..Samantha got a grip on what's happening around her and saw a couple of eyes around her that were witnessing the scene in front of them with a mixture of fear and apprehension.

Puzzled she looked back at the grey ones and steadied herself on her own two feet..

'I'm sorry Mr.. Whoever you are! But it wasn't my intention to bump into you .. Maybe, just maybe you could be a little more careful going around like you just own the place! Samantha let out in a huff and walked off in the direction of the canteen..

All the nervousness,the interview and now all this talking was making her hungry!

Grumbling to herself Samantha went on the lookout for a cafeteria & couldn't stop but wonder however irritating the man was he was sure extraordinarily good looking .. The color of his eyes like that of fine shining charcoals matching the color of his expensive suit ,chiselled face with such refined features and hair so well kept that you could not stop the urge to feel your fingers through them....

She was pulled out of her day dreaming by a voice calling out her name ..

'Samantha... Brian calling out to her, came walking from one end of the corridor ..

'Hey how did the interview go.. And do you have an idea about who was the moron to insult the boss like that..? Oh god he was furious .. Brian inquired of her

Samantha was so excited that she hugged Brian without a seconds' thought

'Brian I owe you so much.. The interview was super great and I start working Monday! Yippee..

'Wow that's such great news Sam.. I'm super happy for you.. 'And please, you don't owe me anything ..maybe a meal someday in your gorgeous company but nothing more okay..Brian winked and continued..' We have been friends for ages now... And Christine has been so good to me always that this was the only way I could give her back'!! Brian said gently..

'Brian, you are really such a good person .. Really, you and Stella .. I don't know what did I ever do to deserve such great friends !! '
'Ohhhh by the way what were you asking about a moron '?? Samantha spoke..

'I heard of some woman just walking into our boss and being rude to him instead of being thankful.. It was so stupid, that it is a miracle he didn't chop off her head right away!! Brian added with a chuckle..

Realisation dawned on Samantha as she thought about what happened back there and she was so dumb to not understand that the grey- eyed God in his ultra expensive suit would easily have been the owner of the multi million company she was going to work in.. ' goodbye new job!' She mentally shrieked

'Oh my god Brian, I think the moron that you are talking about could definitely be me!!! Samantha looked towards Brian who still had her hand in hers .. She needed the warmth at the moment .. she felt tears pricking at the back of her eyes as she realised more and more how bad this could be...

The semi horror on Brian's face was all that Samantha needed to know what she had actually done.. ' hey don't blame me entirely ... Okay I was busy getting my phone and was literally over the moon about the job but he could have seen where he was going for both of us .. Right !! She shrieked knowing that how unconvincing that sounded even to her own ears!

' okay... Don't panic Sam and don't get me worked up please.. Let's be quite and pretend as if nothing happened ..if Mr.Reese wants something to happen it will happen you like it or not.. But for the time- being just keep quiet and lie low for a few days.. Just keep busy with work and see to it you don't end up facing him again anytime soon.. Please..! Brian added pleadingly

'I think it's better to apologise for my behaviour ' Samantha replied but was stopped mid way with Brian's hand on her mouth.. ' no please Sam.. Just don't complicate it anymore .. If he wants to find you and punish you or take your apology he will find you from the ends of the earth.. Okay.. So please.. Just be normal and go ahead and have lunch .. All this has got me really hungry !!

This is what Samantha always liked about Brian ..he was the no -hassle, easy going guy.. She knew for a lifetime..
He had mentioned he liked her once years ago ..when they were in high school but there were no other kind of feelings she had for him.. But he was more like an elder brother to her just as for Stella ..

Together.. they moved into the cafeteria to have something to fill their stomachs and get away from all the drama of the day!
