SCHOOL WERE OVER and I quickly grabbed my bag and walked to the parking lot. I saw Chris, leaning against the wall and played with my car keys.
When the hell did he steal my car keys?
Whatever.
I walked to my car and gave him my deadliest glare. He smirked and walked towards me.
"My friend invited me to a party tonight." He stated and I tilted my head, confusion lingered in my mind.
"So what that's gotta do with me?" I said casually and he facepalmed his forehead.
"As my girlfriend, you need to come." He said in annoyance and I rolled his eyes.
"Never ever rolled your eyes in front of me, you smirk boy," I grumbled and he mumbled an okay.
"I'll pick you up at 6. Stay classy, sassy, and a little bit bad-assy." He said casually and I gave him a surprised look, since when this dude became like this? I shuddered.
He threw my car keys to me and waved goodbye. I rolled my eyes playfully and thought for a second.
Maybe, he is not that bad.
I got into my car and turned on the engine. Several minutes later, I arrived at the mansion that I've been living in for seventeen years.
This mansion was never a home for me.
My parents and I have good terms with my grandmother. But my grandfather abandoned us and never talked to us since I was 3.
My grandfather was more to Mandy's family side. I didn't know why grandfather hated us but that must involve the 'hatred of two families'.
Before we lived in the mansion, We had a home. Not too big, not too small. Comfy enough and it felt like home. We moved to grandfather's mansion because...
I absolutely have no idea why.
I parked my car in the huge garage and locked the car. I dashed upstairs and tiptoed to my room when grandmother called me three times.
"Hailey," She called my name and I froze.
"Hailey?" She called again and I gulped and walked downstairs.
"Hailey!" She shouted and I covered my ears.
"Yes, Grandmother?" I replied sheepishly and she shook her head.
"How many times I remind you, call me Abuela." She stated firmly and I nodded lightly.
"What's the matter, Abuela?" I asked.
She cleared her throat and continue to speak.
"Why in the world are you dating the son of the Peterson family?" she asked firmly. Her tone was low and I am sure that she did it on purpose because Abuela's voice was high enough to bleed my ears.
"Abuela.." I pleaded and she stared at me with disappointment in her eyes.
"Tell me why, mi hija." she asked softly and it made me shivered because Abuela never spoke softly to anyone except that she was desperate to know.
"Fine. Yes, he and I were dating and I like him. Is that clear, Abuela?" I stated and she dismissed me.
I walked slowly to my room and heard Abuela sighed and mumbled 'I hope history doesn't repeat itself.'
Confusion lingered in my mind but I ignored it and went to my room.
I closed my eyes and fell asleep on the bed.
***
It was evening right now.
My eyes felt crusty and watery, I rubbed my eyes slowly and glanced at the alarm clock.
"Shit Sherlock!" I cursed and showered like a mad dog.
I quickly changed to a simple black dress with a denim jacket and brown boots. Casual and cute.
I applied some lip gloss and mascara. I curled my hair into beach waves and I smiled, proud of myself today. I twirled around in front of the mirror and stuck out my tongue. I walked downstairs and dashed to the gate, waiting for Chris.
