Bim stared up at the ceiling, eyes still dulled over and puffy from the hours spent crying. Even with, "Markiplier TV" running in the background, he could not bring himself to smile. It had been a few days now since Cici had given him a big old slap of reality and he still only felt the sting. He'd been trying so hard to remember the good times that he had shared with anyone else other than Matthias but was failing tremendously. This was truly the first time that he had come face to face with the truth, Matthias DIDN'T love him.
To any outside viewer this would have been no big deal, obvious even. However, Matthias had been Bim's entire world from the moment he waltzed in through his studio doors. He could remember it crystal clear to this very day. What had seemed like another exciting yet tedious audition process would become something much more in a matter of mere minutes.
After an "okay but not really his standards" type auditionee stalked out of the room, a newcomer appeared. Said man was dressed in a casual light blue shirt, tan pants, black shoes, and light blue eyes filled with confidence. Just that face was enough to get Bim's heart beating faster than the speed of light. He held such boyish charms and from how the audition had been going so far, incomparable improvisational skills! He met every question with exciting and oh so perfect answers. From that moment on, Mattias had become the very reason for his every waking moment. He gave him a tour of the studio, brought him cups of coffee, and even let him suggest ideas for new episodes! (Ask anyone, that was NEVER allowed) No matter what way he approached Matthias, though, he acted as if he was just doing friendly deeds for him.
The next day from when said revelation occurred to him, he asked Matthias out on a date. Matthias had politely said that he wasn't interested in dating at the time. Bim had accepted that and continued on just the way he had before, but in a more friendly way. He didn't sit as close to him when they were on break together, he only sometimes brought him coffee, and just generally toned down everything he had been doing previously. He even managed to drop some favoritism, SOME. Three years had passed since then and the cycle continued in a seemingly endless way, until three days ago anyways. He had finally been woken from his, what he was trying to see as a "curse" so that it didn't hurt as much.
Another Valentine's day had passed, bringing on another rejection from Mattias, which had left him sulking all day. That's when Cici, followed by a concerned Host, had said the words that he would never dare to tell himself, "You need to move on from Matthias." At first he had just stared at her and the Host like an alien had taken both of their places. Cici had then gone on to repeat the statement and then give him a surprisingly long list as to why. The Host offered him physical comfort to the best of his ability as she spoke. (Really just a hand on his shoulder) Thinking it over now, the reasons seemed to make so much painful sense and yet.... His hands clenched into fists beside his hips as the tears started fresh in his eyes again. How could he let go of the man that made his life more than just images flashing on a screen? The one who made every day a treat! The one who, he felt his breathing falter, the one who made him think of others and not just of himself. He had learned so much from the days he had spent with Matthias. Could he ever truly let go of someone that gifted him with so much? His smile fell lower as a "Bim?" suddenly sounded from the other side of his bedroom door.
The voice rang out in a sweet yet concerned tone, so it clearly belonged to Cici. "I'm alright....." His tone completely disagreed with his reply. He hears her form slip against the door slowly. "I'm...."He raised his head a little at the tone of that one word. Regret, sadness, a blind fury to which he imagined was only aimed at herself. "I'm truly sorry that you are suffering. I know it's partly my fault and-" He lets out a small, sad chuckle. "There's no need to apologize, really. Even if it hurts, I understand why you said it." He half-smiles and puts his head to the door. "Heh. Thanks." It's an empty couple of words that escape her lips and he understands why completely but, he was the blind one here. Too stuck in a disillusioned dream too even try to help himself. He hears her footsteps retreat off in the distance on his left side and sighs aloud. The day continued to drag on.
