A Day In The Life

A Day in the life can really turn into something very Unexpected! My true story of a chance meeting with a rock star! 

For so long I dreamed of working for a modeling agency! I was picked up by a very reputable and prestigious agency! I always wanted to work in LA!   My dreams were about to come true as I was picked by a company through my agency with an assigment to walk the runway in Los Angeles for a hair and fashion show! I loved working in other places,,but thus far I had never been to LA!

As my plane touched down i was excited for my weekend of work with all the hot shots in the industry . It was a beautiful somewhat chilly day even a bit windy, but so great because I was in LA! We were picked up by airport limo. The ride over was exciting,, Seeing Capital records, The Wiskey, The Hollywood sign. I cant recall everything in order, but i was excited and felt like the usual torest even if i was there to work! We soon arrived at the hotel "  The Hollywood Roosevelt" and was given out our assigments and room mates were chosen for us! It was quite charming . Gold walls, chandeliers and a very Colonial feel! luxurious for sure! I took a pamphlet of information that that told all about the history of the hotel! On the way up, people gossiped about the hotel being haunted. You could feel that history all around! The ghosts may have been busy as i never got to see any still lingering around. 

Once in our room  I tossed my bags down and jumped on the couch that lined our bay window  It was such a pretty room , I could see everything " Hollywood" !  I really wanted to have a look around but was due at  the center where i heard so much about to do a full review of tommorow nights fashion show . 

I was not very good friends with Laura, who was chosen to be my room mate since we flew in together . I have worked with her a few times. I did not know her that well but she seemed nice enough . We sat at the window together chatting and taking in the view as this was her first time to LA as well. I tried to get to know her, she was always so quiet , but soon warmed up and it seemed like we were going to have a great time working together and  sightseeing with what ever little time we had off. 

Soon it was time to go. I showered ,dressed got a quick bite to eat as there was a basket of  snacks and beautiful flowers on the table for us on behalf of the hotel thanking us for choosing them. No heavy eating before a fitting! 

We were ready and made our way down to the lobby and out the door where we were  picked up by limo and taken  where we were to work. It was a short trip and "Arrival". WOW" The first night was to be a long dress rehersal. Being fitted in our dresses, lots of sewing, primping and pinning,! We entered through the front and was asked by one of the several security guards to see our  passes which we did not have yet! A voice came from behind him in a broken French accent " Stupad Let them In," !!It was the designer who gave us each a kiss on both cheeks and handed us our lanyard passes .Hello, Hello, "How was your flight, everything, okay, come, follow me" Yes, everything is amazing i smiled" As we walked through following Alexandré I took in all that was going on around us.  ,A huge runway being put together,,Men on long latters putting lights into place! Several bars were set up with fine wine and champagne for the guests and after party! vendors setting up booths all just outside and around the massive  out door venue ! Pretty exciting! It was all so much bigger then i ever expected! 

The next day would be the show starting at 7 pm. I slept in that day with the time difference. A few hours prior, we were picked up and brought to the venue.Floral arrangers were just finishing and the smell of Lilies ,Hydrangeas and of course roses were everywhere in multi colors of Pink, Purple, White and yellow  ! Make up artists, designers, hair stylists were mulling around as if in a panic! " Sit,,please Sit here" I was primped, set, dressed and ready for the show! The clothes, the makeup,,the hair! This was incredible! A beautiful show at an amazing complex and I was thrilled to be a part of it!
