Child of the Moon

Just as the sun throws its colors on the earth in loving adoration

And as the rain sings a lullaby

And just as the snow blankets the earth lovingly and kisses it to sleep

Is exactly what she longs for.

She longs for a carefree life,

One that is filled with the love of her earthly angel

As anyone born under the sun would desire or already have.

But she is different,

Born under the fate of the moon, her will to fly drowned by her sorrows.

She is rejected constantly by her peers

Because the one she loves already belongs to another.

He passes her in the hallways without giving her as much as a second glance

And when he does look at her, his midnight eyes are filled with hatred.

Her heart breaks everytime she sees him,

As is the fate of one born under the moon.

She is destined to live alone, she thinks

She has no self-confidence

To actually try to find the one who can break her curse

And, heart stopping, wrists bleeding, eyes filled with tears,

She ends her misery.
