Yuuki’s POV:
I wait out side the headmaster’s bathroom. There’s a towel on the door that means someone’s in it. “Zero’s in the bathroom. Why don’t you use the guest room?” The headmaster tells me in his pajamas. “I’ll wait for him to come out. I need to speak with him. Please fix the lock ASAP.” I tell him. “I could tell… your blood…tasted that way…” Zero told me. I close my eyes and lay on the couch. I don’t want Kaname to drink my blood…ever. What are vampires? Can they tell how you feel just by drinking your blood? You’re wrong Zero. Always…since that time… When Zero first came to live with us he sat in a room by a fireplace. I was at the door watching him scratch his neck. “Zero…What are you doing?” I asked him. His blood ran down his neck. “It feels disgusting…I can still that woman…” He said continuing to scratch himself. “Stop it…that must be painful…stop…” I said with tears in my eyes. I ran to him grabbing his bloody hand. “Zero! You’re talking about the woman that killed your family and hurt you right? She did bad things to you too, Zero. It must have been scary…” I said gripping his hand and putting one hand on his neck. “You’re ok…I’ll always be with you… so you’ll be alright.” I told him. I still keep that promise today. The three of us moved to the Cross Academy around this time. We were eating dinner together. “Zero…we have a guest…” The chairman told him. “So late at night.” Zero said as the doorbell rang. “Yuuki it’s ok go get him.” The headmaster told me. I ran to the door. “Kiriyu when you meet him you’ll understand.” He told Zero. “What?” Zero said. “Kaname!” I said as I opened the door. He stroked my hair then my cheek. “Kaname…um…” I said. “What is it?” Kaname asked me as I pulled his arm. As soon as Zero saw Kaname he stood up. He grabbed a knife and walked fast toward Kaname. “Zero, No…!” I said trying to stop him. Kaname pushed my aside as Zero stabbed his arm. “Vampire!” Zero yelled. “Kaname!” I said. “You just ran up and stabbed me…? That’s not nice.” Kaname told Zero. “Shut up! You smell like that woman!” Zero yelled at Kaname. “That woman? So you’re Zero Kiriyu? I’ve heard about you. I’m sorry about your family.” Kaname said as he took the knife out of his arm and let it fall to the floor. “But, I won’t let you kill me.” Kaname said. “You mistook the one who warrants your revenge.” The headmaster told Zero as he led him away to his room. “Kaname…you’re bleeding” I said looking at his arm. “It’s ok I’ll heal soon I’m a vampire. And I’m not the one in pain.” He said watching Zero. “Zero…Kaname left.” I said entering his room. “I’m sorry. I should have told you about him sooner…are you alright?” I asked reaching out my hand. He slapped it away. “Don’t touch me! With the hands that touched him!” Zero yelled. “Kaname is a nice vampire…he saved me from a horrible vampire.” I explained to him. “There’s something wrong with you and the headmaster…” Zero said.
Kaname’s POV:
After I met Zero I went back to the car. “You’re back! You’re early. Is your errand over?” Takuma asked me. “No I’ll come later.” I told him as I closed the door. “But I didn’t think…you’d come back hurt.” He said. “There’s blood on your wrist.” Takuma noticed. “Here a wet towelette.” He offered as I licked it. “I met the kid from that incident. So the chairman is taking care of him. Well…that’s to be expected.” I said. “What is it? Are you jealous of him because he can be with Yuuki all the time?” Takuma asked. “I don’t have time to be jealous. Things will be busy soon.” I said.
Yuuki’s POV:
And after that…the chairman made a strange proposal. “As you know I’m the Academy’s headmaster. I’m going to make a Night Class at my school…starting next year!” he told us. “Night Class? Like an evening class for the seniors?” I asked him. “No. The Night Class is the Night Class.” He said but I still didn’t understand. “They will use the high school building at night…but it’s not for seniors or collage students.” He said. “What are they going to do at night?” I asked. “Taking classes of course. I’ll have them do advance studies, and they can attend as long as they want. Because… the students are nocturnal, and live much longer than us. So we can’t deal with them like normal humans.” He said. Zero got up from reading his book. “The students in the Night Class will be…vampires.” He said. ‘What are you thinking…letting those beasts in the school?” Zero asked wide-eyed. “Headmaster?” I asked. “It’s for the purpose of peaceful coexistence of vampires and humans…and to educate young vampires…so they become a politically moderate force.” Kaname said as he stood in the doorway. “Kaname you came!” The chairman said surprised. “Kaname?!” I said. ‘I didn’t knock…but hello…Yuuki.” Kaname said. “Kaname Kuran…?” Zero said. Zero ran to the headmaster. “It’s ridiculous! There is no way vampires could coexist with humans! How many times have they spilled our blood…” Zero said angrily. “I want it all to end. I’ve lost someone too…just like you.” The chairman said. “No! Just because of that, you can lead the wolfs to the flock of sheep?! ” Zero said. “Zero doesn’t agree, but you have already made your decision right?” I asked. “There’s nothing to worry about. Kaname will be in the Night Class…so, the others will behave themselves and because of him, we’re getting others to attend as well.” The chairman said. “But…if he double crosses us that’s the end.” Zero said leaving the room. “Zero…I’ll go see him.” I said.
