" I wish you didnt have to move to Toronto, Jeanette." said 10 year old Elise.
" I know right Elise! It's going to totally suck! " replied 11 year old Jeanette " It sure will be different living on a farm, surrounded by animals, and, ugh I dont even want to think about it! DIRT!" Jeanette Wilfreed and Elise Marksprai lived in Hollywood, California. Both their parents owned big million dollar mansions! Elise and Jeanette met last summer whe Jeanette moved to Claifornia. Ever since then Elise and Jeanette were inseperable! Jeanette, ever since she moved to California had had a crush on Elise's 13 year old brother, Louis. While Elise had had a crush on Jeanettes twin brother, Maximus. " School sure will be different without you. " said Elise sadly.
Maximus was running up behind them " GURGLE-BLUNDER-BUDER!" He yelled. "AHHHHHH!" screamed the two girls in terror. Maximus was known for his ability to scare anyone, big or small, he can scare 'em all.
"Maximus I hope you know I'm telling mom and dad about that!" Jeanette yelled at her brother " And then you're going to be in trouble! " " Well you just said that because, ...because you're scared, and...a a snitch! " replied Maximus. Jeanette looked down at her feet I'm not a snitch! Thought Jeanette and I'm not scared! I'm just tired of always getting in trouble for what you've done, because you always tell mom and dad that i did it! Jeanette fought back what she thought was a tear in her eye. Elise looked at Maximus sneering down at jis sister and Jeanette looking down at her feet and fighting back a sob.
" Now look here Maximus! " declared Elise " Tell me, why on the face of this planet are you calling you're sister scared and a snitch!?!?! Huh?! Huh?! "
" Well, I ..."
"Now don't you dare 'well, I' me! " Started Elise " You are calling you're sister scared and a snitch when YOU clearly didn't think about! If you're sister was scared then why does she take all the blame for everything that you do? Why is she always the one to have to sit in the corner and get grounded, when she is a perfect angel and you are a peckish little devil?! Huh?!"
Maximus was speechless! please stop talking Elise! thought Maximus There's a crowd of people from school! You'll ruin my reputation!
Elise didnt stop! Oh no, she had alot that she wanted to tell Maximus, whether it was going to ruin his reputation or not. Whether she had a crush on him or not! Elise wasn't going to give up on her best friend and her only friend! " And how exactly does she get in trouble if your parents are always at works and dont see whats going on around the house? Huh ? " Elise knew that a crowd was gathering so she turned around and gave everyone a face as if trying to say ' What 'ya think of him now? ' But before Maximus could answer Elise had started talking once again. " The only way your parents found out about what Jeanette did, or should I say, what YOU did! The only way they found out was because you would call them, say what happened and then lie to them by saying Jeanette did it! So by the looks of it, YOU are the snitch around here!"
The crowd has grown and everyone now knew about what Maximus has done. Everyone then started to whisper amongst themselves. Oh no! Thought Maximus Now everyone knows! Why does Elise have to be such a smartass!?!? But maybe it's okay! Yeah, it should be okay. At least amongst us boys! I mean it's not like I'm the only one that blames everything on my sister! " LIAR! LIAR! PANTS ON FIRE! STICK YOU'RE BUTT TO CANADIAN TIRE!" Elise had started chanting and before Maximus knew it the whole crowd of kids that just kept expanding, had also started chanting with Elise! Maximus tried to fight back the tears and emotional pain inside him, but he couldn't! And to everyones surprise Maximus had burst into tears!
He started running home that moment. "FOLLOW ME!" cried Elise to the crowd n"AFTER HIM!" Everyone continued to chant and chase Maximus, with Elise in the lead. Maximus had run home and hid in his room with all the doors and window locked. Jeanette had known where all the windows to Maximus' room were so the crowd had moved just outside his window and continued to chant. Maximus ddn't hear the chanting stop 'till at least an hour after his embarassment had started. Maximus started to think to himself. Now how am I going to go to a new school after this incident? This news will reach my new school in Toronto, Canada and I am sure to be bullied about this for the rest of my life!
"Hey," started Jeanette "Thanks for standing up to Maximus today!" "No problem! What are friends for?" replied Elise
"It must have been hard for you to speak that way to your crush, wasn't it?"
"Yeah, but I couldn't have not done it! I couldn't have my bestie suffer her annoying brother anymore! Anyways, I don't know how I ever had a crush on your brother anyway! I mean he's just so, ewe!"
"LOL Elise! I don't know how I had a crush on Louis! He's ewe! And way too old for me!"
The two girls laughed by each others side. Both knowing that it isn't soon that they see each other, but still laughing and having fun like there's no tomorrow! "Well," Said Elise "At least now it won't be boring at school anymore! Everyone will have something to alk about for a long time!" "No doubt about that!" Replied Jeanette. The two girls continued to laugh. "Will you come visit me in Toronto?" asked Jeanette. "Of course, hey I heard it's beautiful in downtown Toronto during the christmas season! Maybe I'll get my parents to take us down to Toronto next winter!" replied Jeanette.
"That would be great! And I'll get my parents to take us down to California during the summer! We can walk down the beach and eat ice cream and dont forget your birthday!"
"Yup! And your birthday is during the winter break, so we can spend your birthday down in Toronto!" The girls laughed for a moment. "But" started Elise "But what?" asked Jeanette. "You see Jeanette, my birthday is next week! I dont think your parents will let you come down to California next week!"
"Which is why I am giving you this right now!" Jeanette handed Elise a small box wrapped in purple wrapping paper. Elise slowly opened a box which revealed a small heart shaped locket that said 'ELISE'. Inside the locket was a picture of Jeanette and Elise together. The locket was made out of 100% pure gold!
Elise broke into tears. "Thank you!" she sobbed while her best friend. "This is the best gift ever!" The two girls hugged it out. "Jeanette!" yelled mr.Wilfreed "Time to hit the road! We cant be late for the plane! Its a long flight to toronto!" Jeanette got into her parents' Chevrolet Corvet. The two girls waved goodbye and Elise fought back a tear as she watched the Wilfreeds Chevrolet Corvet drive into the setting sun. I really will miss you Jeanette. Was the only thing Elise could think about.
