Chapter 28: Basket of Pebbles

"Mommy what's the noise?" Carter groaned rolling over in bed.

I heard what she was talking about. There was loud music playing and I could hear pebbles being thrown at the window. "Stay here and watch your brother." I said checking the time which was two am.

I walked to the window in Seth's room and saw Dean standing on the top of the truck with a basket of pebbles and Chapter 13 playing. "You woke up the kids jackass." I said, throwing pebbles down at him.

"Listen, I'm sorry."

"It's two am can't his wait, Carter is awake Dean."

"I know it's early and it's a big inconvenience but I want you to know I'm sorry and that I love you so much. Mavis and I are both sorry."

"Where is she then?"

"Right here." I turned and saw her standing the room. "I'm sorry mom for all I've done. There's no excuse for it and I mean it this time. Your my mom and forever will be."

I smiled and let her come over to hug me. I shed a tear but pulled away when Dean had crawled through the window. He took both of my hands after setting down the basket of rocks. "Atticus I am so sorry. I love you and I couldn't be more extremely proud to have a girl like you in my life and be a great mother to my children."

"Why are you doing this? I don't like big romantic things you know this."

"I know but it's one of the only ways I can show you I truly am sorry and that you're forever my favorite girl."

I hugged him and kissed him. "You're an absolutely amazing human being and I'm beyond blessed to have you as my husband. Let's all cut the shit out and go home." I said hugging Mavis and Dean. I shed a couple tears and so did the both of them.

We took in He moment before going home and staying as a family once again.

"I'm so happy you guys found her." Nikki said sitting down at the same time as me.

"I'm happy too because it was torturous."

"Well when you texted me asking if I saw Mavis I freaked out but how are you? You haven't been on tv in almost a month."

"Yeah because everything happened with Mavis, I told Steph that I wanted to be home for a weeks for things to get back to normal and  she gave me the next few weeks off."

"That's so nice of her. It's good to have you back too."

I smiled and hugged my best friend here right now. "So, what's going on with her and Steven?"

"Steven and her are actually going to slowly get back to where they were. It's so good really. I love that he can forgive her because I love that kid like he's my own."

"I know and its beautiful. I'm jealous of our guys family."

"You're gonna find someone else, Nikki." I said comforting her.

"I know I know but everything's just weird without him."

"It's going to be but now that you're living new us you know you're always welcome."

She nodded and smiled at me. "You're the best."

"Yeah I know."
