It cracked in the fireplace and one could feel the comfortable warm air spread. He felt comfortable as he sat on the couch with a soft fur blanket covering his legs. He flipped over a page, which gave enough sound to in return receive a low "Ahem" from the chair by the fireplace. It took only a few seconds before the expected question came. "You like the book yeah? Physics is something special." he could hear from his father's voice that he was smiling where he sat. He nodded. There was a happy humming sound. "I thought so. If you look at the last page beneath your name, there is an autograph from the author himself" the father's voice was clearly full of pride. "It's pressed though of course, but it's still the real one." The boy nodded and flipped to the back of the book and read through the last page. In the middle it was written 'Jungkook' with big gold letters. Under his own name, it was 'Isaac Newton' with black loopwriting. He looked up with a soft smile, towards his father who looked as if he was very pleased with himself. Jungkook thanked him for the book again, although he already thanked him when he first got it in his hands. He looked down again, getting back to the page he had started reading just when his father had stopped him.
The clock struck 10 and the father looked up from the newspaper he had picked up earlier that day. "Should we go get something to eat before we go to bed?" he asked. Jungkook looked up and nodded before closing the book he was reading. They went into the kitchen and the father put on some coffee and found himself a few slices of bread, a knife and then some jam. Jungkookwent to the dishwasher and took out a clean bown and a spoon, before he went to the cupboard to fetch the box of cornflakes. When he reached the tabke, the father had already brought milk from the fridge. They both sat down and started eating what they had put on for themselves. They ate in silence for a while, before the father cleared his throat. That usually meant he was about to start a conversation. Jungkook nooded to show his father that he was listening, before he stuffed his mouth with a spoonful of cornflakes. "Have you looked up schools yet?" The man asked, smiling. Jungkook shrugged as he chewed out and swallowed the food he had just stuffed in. "We don't need to submit the application form until Ferbruary/March." He then took another spoonful of cornflakes. The father nodded understandingly. "Have you thought of which school to apply for?" I know the university in Gangwon is sought after when it comes to teacher's education." Jungkook remained silent while his thoughts rushed like if they were high on drugs, but he still gave a light nod before he decided to reply "I haven't decided yet, but I have considered that university yes." The father nooded to that. "I'm sure you'll reach far hights, as teachers specialised in subjects such as mathematics and physics are very much sought after. It's also possible to take several years with studies after that. Yes, imagine if you could end up as a professor like your old father?" His eyes shone as he spoke about his favourite topics. "I really look forward to hearing where you get in. With your grades you'll probably be accepted to a university with the best students from this country. I'm getting excided only thinking about how fun that race will be. Seeing the others fall behind you as you stand forth as the top student." The father shone. Jungkook nodded with a small smile. The boy made a light yawn before he got up from his chair. "I'm a bit sleepy right now. Also, you know I have a test in biology tomorrow." Jungkook lightly pushed his chair close to the table and his father nodded and got up from his own chair. "Just go to bed son, I'll clean up. And good luck with your test, though I'm sure it'll be an easy beat for you." He smiled. Jungkook nodded and went upstairs to his room.
