For Their Own Good
The Void's Zone is the black space that the orb-shaped dimensions called "Realms" are created and maintained.
Despite it's name,it's not a complete vacant location;remnants of fallen Realms, ships containing people, and even lifeless Hollows and resides in its dark embrace, lit only by the lights of the Realms themselves.
Due to the Dimensions being separated, from one another like planets in outer space, there is not many beings that can leave nor enter Realms at will.Only certain Warp Points and Ships are capable of crossing the dimensional barrier that separate a Realm from the Void's Space.Standing tall at the front deck of his own magnificent Battle Warpship Partizan, the leader and commander of the Order of Regulon Sir Drewun the Convicted used his single misty blue eye to look into the Realm he soon will be invading:
the pitiful wasteland called Desolatia.
It shouldn't even be considered a Realm anymore; once the gorgeous, fertile Land of Quintessine, it have long since declined into a stagnant pile of borderline lifeless mediocrity and fallen civilizations.
Drewun's arrogance may have gotten the best of him, but he cannot deny that he do not grasp the Great Sovereign's wisdom in choosing a pathetic man-child such as the Kogre man he sees before him as the Ruler of a Realm. One of his Familiars- a small, single-eyed avian with sharp teeth and an even sharper beak- roosted on the open window seal and watched as the fat, giggling simpleton
sat on his stone throne and listened to the report of a soft young woman with pink skin, red hair, and a long pink gown with blue trousers."Everything is good to go Kaiser," the girl assured her superior, her crimson red eyes looking directly into his bestial violet ones as though they were equals.
"The Kadr Kouncil are in their positions, the traps are set, and best of all;Soul and Hecture hasn't expected a thing!"
"Excellent!" exclaimed the horned,robe-dressed fool, rubbing his large claws together.
"This time,Patrisha,my plot's sure to work! Those fools won't know what hit them!""Want me to send the message,Kaiser?"
the right hand of the Desolatia Ruler asked. The Kogre brought his left claw into one of his robe pockets and pulled out a cellphone the size of a small shoebox.
"No need for that,my dear.I want to declare my imminent victory personally. You have done your part well enough."
"All right,then."
While she turned to leave, she added flippantly,
"if you need me,I'll be in my office.
Those taxes aren't going to account themselves."As Drewun's Familiar leered at the back of Patrisha's hair-covered head,Kaiser smiled and states in her absence:
"Now that that's taken care of,I'm going to menace my nemesis before I begin my Morning Feast!"
Nemesis.Sir Drewun couldn't help but curl his lip in disgust.Such a word should not be used so frivolously.
Kadr's "arch enemy" is a peculiar,child-like...monster that spends its days performing good deeds and smiting those who dare to disrupt the peace.A benevolent creature such as that deserves a better breed of rival than this bag of lard and decadence and Sir Drewun is more than willing take Kadr's place.
Shifting from the view of one Familiar
to another,Drewun left the sight of Kaiser's Keep and turned to the perspective of a massive skeltonal Dragon hidden under the silver sands that lie near an Ancient Steeple. With only it's glassy blue eyes visible,it's virtually indistinguishable from the very sands themselves, allowing it to watch the two small Monsters that stood several hundred feet nearby without suspicion.Unlike with Kaiser Kadr, his view on these beings are much more respectful, though he greatly disagree with their lifestyle. They have no official status within the Desolatian Hierarchy, yet the majority of the citizens there respect(and in extreme cases worship) these Monsters as Heroes and Sir Drewun believes that they are worthy of their title.Too worthy,as a matter of fact;their extreme competency have caused the general population to be too dependent on them, and as a result made them soft and unequipped to fight even the lowliest of Rogues.Kaiser's "Kadr Kouncil" was able to fed off the Rogues efficiently enough but they were not nearly as able to ward off threats as the Monsters were able to, which forced the masses to fend for themselves in many cases.
Now the duo's efforts to maintain stability have effectively caused most of the Desolatians to grow soft and feeble. That is unacceptable in Sir Drewun's eyes. The Realms must be prepared for the threats ahead.
For their own good, they require his guidance and leadership- whether they like it or not.The Draconic Familiar glared ominously at the pair of Heroic creatures as they began to bow to one another before performing battle stances, waiting for Drewun to give the command to attack.
Just as one of the Monsters were about to strike the other with their black fist, the Head Knight of the Regulon Order gave the Familiar the mental signal it needs to advance.
With a sudden and terrifying ferocity, the Dread Beast emerged from it's hidden locations and lunged at the duo, intent on overpowering them with it's fearsome speed and powerful abilities.
