Where everything begins.

SHE QUICKLY RAN TO THE POLICE STATION after hearing the news being flooded around town. Inside, she felt uneasy, worried but at the same time happy.

Never in her past life ever since the incident happened had she ever felt happy.

Is it okay to feel like that when you just met someone you fell at first time but this time being seen on TV for something bad?

Well, Yeon had never experienced this in her life so of course, she didn't really care.

All she cared about was seeing that handsome guy again.

"Appa?" She questioned as she entered the police station where her father works.

Her father is a police officer who catches criminals and puts them in jail. It was great but tiring that sometimes her father would faint at certain times and had to be taken back home to rest.

It was awesome, being a superhero for other children to dream about and to be a role model to their own children however, there is a limit to everything.

The first thing she saw were his secretaries working days without stopping when her eyes landed on a familiar figure sitting in his own office, her own father.

Her eyes lit up that she saw her father unharmed and all in piece.

Smiling to herself, she excitedly jumped around to his office and didn't forget to knock.

Inside the office, was Yeon's father struggling to find a solution to a recent case that was sent to him this morning.

He was stressing for sure but it all disappeared when he heard a knock on his office's door.

"Come in!" Knowing he doesn't want to reveal himself stressing, he hid it all with a small smile.

His eyes went up from looking down at the papers and watched the door opened to see a familiar figure peeking through.

It was his own daughter.

After seeing his daughter coming to see him, he immediately brightened up and he had forgotten everything about stressing and trying to figure out a solution.

Yeon meant everything to Mr. Han. She was his world and a ball of sunshine that will always give him the will to carry on especially after the people he had lost.

He felt ashamed of himself for not being the best father he could be since he always worked everyday from mornings to night so he couldn't see his daughter that much.

For not seeing his daughter even one millisecond caused his heart to go in pain.

That's how much she is to him.

He already gave up focusing on the case and decided to take a break to talk to his daughter that he would always miss.

"Appa!" She exclaimed and began rushing towards her father which he in return, chuckled at her actions.

Up from his chair, he stood up with his arms opened wide to hug his own daughter in such delight.

Soon, he felt a warm feeling while embracing his daughter in his own arms.

"Did you miss me sweetie?" He asked sweetly and Yeon nodded still covering her whole head into his chest sniffing his cologne.

She made a quiet 'mhm' and Mr.Han couldn't stop but smile wider.

The hug broke afterwards and he gestured her to take a seat in front of his desk.

Yeon didn't hesitate to listen to her father and with happiness, she sat down comfortably.

Mr.Han make his way back down and pushed the case away but Yeon stopped him by asking him a question which made him tense up.

"What are you doing right now appa?" He looks back at his daughter who is now playing with her fingers and eyes beaming with curiosity.

He didn't want to talk about the case right now but because his own daughter asked, he didn't want to make her disappointed.

"I'm in the middle of a case." The word 'case' rang inside her hand and she sprung up.

"Ooh! I'm so sorry, I interrupted your work!" She was about to leave the office when her father stopped her.

"No! It's fine, I'm taking a break right now." His voice assured her so she slowly walked back to sit down.

"What case is it?" She asked again.

"The case that was sent this morning about an 18 year old boy dead and something about catching the criminal." He sighed in a little frustration.

Yeon wanted to go into more detail.

"Appa, tell me more about this boy." Mr.Han grabbed hold of the case and opened it, searching for the information she asked.

He skimmed and scammed until something hit him right in the head.

"Yeon-ah," The girl heard her name and looked back to see her father drenched in worry. "Is your school....Seoul High?" She nodded with confusion.

What could her father possibly want to say?

"No wonder this sounds familiar..." He mumbled under his breath but she quickly heard it.

"What do you mean appa?" It surprised him a bit that she heard what he just said.

Inside her father's mind, he stopped to think whether or not he should tell her.

He didn't want to hide anything away from her.

During his thoughts, Yeon sat still waiting patiently for his father's explanation until she meant his serious face.

"If I tell you, don't go plotting a murder scene to the culprit." She continued to nod and just by hearing his tone and what he had just said, something uncomfortable built up inside her.

Her father could tell she was starting to feel uneasy but he still resume.

"Do you perhaps...know someone called Oh Sehun?" His name woke her up and she nervously nodded again.

"How close are you to him?" He continued.

"We're very close but we don't hang around much." Yeon tried hard not to stutter; everything around her body was tensing up.

There was silence in the room and she had to admit, her beat was pulsing really fast.

She watches her father's mouth opening and the words he said, made everything around her stop.

"I'm very sorry, we couldn't save that boy."
