Every parent likes a good tale to tell, well their young lay snuggled up in the mountains of covers that keep them safe from the scary monsters that lurk in closets and under the bed. I will write another for you, something to relate to.
Hear we go.Jaquan, also known as Jai, loved reading, it was his passion in life all the way until he was 12. That's when high school started. And you couldn't be a 'neek' or a nerd rapped up in books and poems. At first he was, a typical young year 7 with the heavy bag and the most expensive school shoes. A blazer that reached the tips of his fingers and was three times the size of his natural shape.
His first day was the worst. He walked into class and he sat in his assigned seat. Of course everyone is awkward on the first day, eager to make friends and get along so they aren't the loner in school that hides in the toilet so they don't get caught eating lunch by themselves.
Jai meets this girl named Rachel. She isn't exactly the most pretty he's seen in the time he's been there, but she's really nice and she looked as nervous as he was. She's got long dark hair, with dark brown eyes and she's got a small dimple in her chin. She's got an average weight and her clothes are as baggy as anyone else's.
After break time, which was after first and second period. There's coaching. A mix up of all groups with different people you need to get along with. These are basically your family in school. That's what the teachers call it. Luckily Jai has a primary friend in his coaching so he sits next to him and starts to chat about his day so far. "Shhh." Says a voice from the distance. And the teacher starts talking. "So, I know were all new here and you want to meet everyone. But I would like to introduce myself." A girl in the corner sighs and rolls her eyes.
"My name is Miss-" she gets cut off by a teacher rushing in. You could tell by the teachers body language that he wasn't extremely confident like the coach sitting in the chair facing us.
"Uhh..." Murmurs the teacher. "Yes, Mr Collins?" Remarks Miss... yeah we didn't get that far..
By his eyes glaring at her there was a sense of lust and hesitation. "Here's the um.. reports for the um the children." He finally says, and hands her the papers swiftly, brushing his hand on hers. He turns and heads out quickly, feeling embarrassed. She realises she is still present in the class and carries on. "As I was saying, my name is Miss Danison. I will be your coach until you leave this school."From that day as Jai sailed through Year 7 he always paid attention to them as they got closer and closer. Then, in year 9 Mr Collins built up the confidence from the other teachers and proposed, right in front of Jai in coaching. Right where it all started, which was quite romantic from his perspective.
As I was saying.. Jai loved reading and he would do so, every night for an hour. Or if it was so good it would be longer. It was rarely longer, as he could not find the right book that gave him the tension and fight he wanted. So, as frequent as he could he would go to his school library and search through the shelves to find the perfect book. He would ask for recommendations from fellow students and teachers. However, there were very few student readers as you had to be really uncool and smart to attend the library. Jaquan although, thought that it was good for him and he never let a rude bully get to him and tell him about his reading.A year later..
"Hey babe" came a distant call to a girl leaning against the corridor wall. Jaquan watched as the sixth former grabbed her by her head and kissed her gently, sliding his tongue into her mouth. Then suddenly being ripped apart by a female teacher who tiredly tells them to go to class, after a brief chat about the 'no kissing rule'.
Jaquan heads off to coaching and catches a glimpse of Rachel sitting in a dark empty classroom. He decides in his mind to skip coaching or go to Rachel and he's interrupted by- "Jaquan! Why are you standing there, your late for coaching" shouts ma'am b. They call her ma'am B because she is like a bee that sneaks up on you and you can barely see her half the time. "S-sorry Miss Besi." He steps inside his class room before she says another word.
They were learning PSHE in coaching. But Jai was trapped in his mind wondering why Rachel is skipping classes, and hiding in a dark empty classroom..
Should I continue??.... Or is there something I can improve? Tell me in the comments.
