As Lance continued to drive the lion recklessly, Ash managed to stand herself up and make her way back over to Keith, gripping onto his jacket for the only support she could muster.

"You.... are the worst... pilot... ever!" Keith managed to say as Lance did another flip. Lance had no response as he finally brought the blue lion to the ground, and it began running. Not long after, it shot itself back into the sky.

"There's an alien ship nearby, I think we're supposed to stop it," Lance said breathlessly. Hunk was about to puke, but Ash didn't blame him. Despite her quiet reactions, Ash was holding onto her weak stomach. Keith took notice, and wrapped his arms around her in a protective manor.

The lion soon broke out of Earth's atmosphere, drawing into the stars. The peace didn't last for long, as a large black and purple ship seemed to come out of nowhere and halt in front of them.

Lasers began quickly shooting at the lion from the side of the ship. Ash kept her eyes scrunched closed as she listened in carefully.

"We gotta get out of here!" Came Pitch's cry of worry. Lance's response was to take control of the lion, and begin dodging the lasers. Keith, forgetting about his duty to hold Ash upright, gripped the back of Lance's chair, shouting at him.

Ash's eyes flew open, but they didn't stay open for long. The force of the moving lion caused her to fly backwards without the support of Keith, as her head collided with some of the technology residing in the lion.

She felt herself fall over, her mind numb. Ash's body collided with the hard floor, the last thing she saw being Keith running over to her, calling her name worriedly.

*********

Keith rolled his eyes, Lance obviously turning into his normal playboy self. A random girl had fallen out of the pod, and was about to fall over, until Lance had caught her. He immediately began flirting, which was the reason he didn't want Lance around Ash. Keith didn't want him to break her heart, she'd have enough of that at Garrison.

***********

Ash fluttered her eyes open, coming into consciousness. Her pounding headache caused her to move her hand to her head, only for another hand to grab her wrist and place it back at her side gently. She felt something cold and wet, a washcloth, being pressed onto her head.

She closed her eyes as the pain went away slightly. Gaining enough strength to prop herself onto her elbows, and eventually sit all the way up, Ash took in her surroundings.

She was in a room, an unfamiliar one. The walls and floor were made of white tile, beams thatched to the walls of the room cornered off the bed, providing a sense of security and privacy.

Once she finished gazing at her surroundings, her eyes landed on her care-taker. Their back was turned to her, but she would notice those stiff moments and shoulder-length dark locks anywhere.

"Keith," she breathed. She watched as he set the bucket down, and walked over to her bed. The end dipped down, signifying he had sat at the end.

"I can't explain anything right now, but your safe." He said without emotion, gazing at Ash. She nodded, and avoided making eye contact.

Keith crawled over the bed closer to her, and lay on top of the covers next to her. The ship was cold, and she was only in a t-shirt and shorts. He tried providing whatever warmth he could.

Keith felt Ash press herself back into the mattress, using Keith's outstretched arm as a pillow. It didn't take long for her to fall back asleep, it had been a rough day for her.

                                       ******
Keith had stayed with Ash's sleeping figure for an hour or two, wanting to be there when she woke up. Now confident in the fact she would be out for awhile, a carefully removed his arm from the crook of her neck, and slowly sat up, not wanting to wake her.

Keith exited the room, and turned around to close the door quietly. As soon as he turned to face the hallway, he was met with a finger to his chest.

"Why were you in there?" Lance questioned accusingly. Keith rolled his eyes and ignored Lance, continuing to walk down the hall.

"Making sure she was okay," Keith finally said, clenching his hands into fists. Lance followed him down the short length he had managed to go, Keith's eyes now full of hatred.

"And as I said before, stay away from her. I know you. You'll hurt her, because you," Keith said angrily, shoving Lance into the wall and pinning him there. "Are a playboy. And playboys, are in it for the game. Not for love. For lust. I saw you flirting with Allura as you caught her out of that pod."

Lance's face was readable with only one expression; fear. He gulped as Keith walked away, intimidated for the first time.
